I like more now that I put the 1.25” wheel spacers on the rear but getting tired of the rake up front. I think it’ll look a lot better once I lower the coil overs. And maybe even better if I can get a set of fender flares with a 2” flare. Just trying to narrow down a brand that isn’t crazy expensive or too cheap and poor quality.

im thinking 0 preload, which would be 1.5" lift on those, so 5.5" in the front, and then doing shackle flip with extended shackle in the rear with my hd dakars. should give me 4.5" in the rear. sounds good on paper.

What are the pros and cons of a shackle flip?

To be 200% honest I've never really dove into that and therefore really can't answer your question.

But, I would love for somebody who knows about them to fill us in!

I’m not 100% either, but I believe a shackle flip will help the leaf spring put more force keeping when wheels on the ground, particularly when suspension is articulated (ie. One side full bump, one side full droop). They also allow for more droop wheel travel as the shackle can hang down more than a shackle designed like the Oem ones.

But, ... I’m pretty sure they will allow springs to go into negative arch, which is bad for the leaves. So bumpstops are required to be at a measured correct height.

They are better for crawling and slow speed stuff (older jeeps have inverted shackles), but most fast off-roading (ie. Long travel and Baja prerunner) use the traditional style as it has better control.

Also check local junk yards. Might luck out. That’s how I got mine. Picked them up for $200 with hubs still attached. Then spent $70 on a hardware kit to include steel braided extended brake lines

So, anyone know the extended length of the maxtrac lines that come with the spindles? Shop stripped one and I think I’m just gonna buy different ones being the lines were used when I got them.i think I’ll go an in over as well.

What hardware kit and where, shop stripped my passenger side maxtrac line and now I need new ones close to the same length? Know the length or the link to that kit?
