    This is the basic look that I like (apologies for the crappy image quality). It seems like a much smaller gap then most of the spindle images that I'm seeing. The tire size is also 285/70R17 (closeup better quality).

    Well these spindles aren't exactly 4". They are 3.75". But you could get some of the 883's or even with the bullies put them at .85".

    Here's my gap with 265's

    So buy spindles and 5100s and springs? Does setting the billies to .85 reduce the gap? I'll admit that I'm confused...

    The spindles will be 3.75" by themselves. Others who will be putting heavier items, such as a new front bumper that has some weight, on the front of there trucks will most likely want to get the beefier springs. If you get the billies and set them to .85 you will be in theory increasing the gap. If you want less gap I would suggest just having the spindles and your 285's and just trim as much as needed (if any)

    Maxtrac spindles are a full 4" unless someone knows something I don't know.....

    Well, I got a total of 5.75" of lift in the front from the spindles and 883's. The 883's are supposed to only give 1.5" of lift so the extra came from somewhere but not sure where.

    Hey guys I'm starting to notice rust on all the machined parts on my spindles. What would be the best paint to use on them and also can I leave them on my truck when I paint them? I would cover everything thoroughly and use a paint brush.

    Id use a rustoleum paint. Mine just have very light surface rust. I put some machine oil on it and it has protected them really well!

    Mine has light surface rust to should I worry about it for long term effects or just put machine oil on them monthly? Im moving to Colorado also so the roads are going to be salty. I just dont want my spindles to break from rust.

    I painted mine with black automotive paint and clear to help prevent peeling of paint later...also spray mine with crc 656 which is a marine grade protecting oil after every wash
