Don’t wait too long - my stock wranglers were terrible/borderline dangerous in snow

I got stuck in a flat parking lot. The OEM Wranglers are worthless.

Same! Flat parking lot with a tiny bit (~2") of snow/ice. First time needing 4wd, and still slid all over. I'm usually an advocate for waiting almost too long to change tires, but so glad I'm rid of the Wranglers.

Crappy pics, but here's the difference in tread pattern between OEM Wranglers (left) and the new Razr (right). Not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but I think this is likely why I was getting poor snow traction (snow/ice packing in the 'groves')

The Wranglers may be "all season" or listed as an AT, but they are _NOT_ 3-Peak Snow Rated. The Maxxis is.

How are the Maxxis on wet roads? The stock Wranglers have horrible traction.

Prices on these seem to be climbing rather quickly. They've gone up almost $100 out the door pricing since I put them in my cart two weeks ago.

Not a ton of experience in SoCal, but went though some bad storms in CO last month and they were great! My wranglers were a bit low on tread, but borderline dangerous with any damp roads & stopping/accelerating/turning.

Does anyone do a lot of gravel driving with these? Trying to find a tire that won't pepper my truck with rocks.

Easily 50% of my driving is on gravel roads.

We get out in the backcountry here in Colorado quite a bit and one of the first things I noticed w/ these tires is that they p/u, and throw, a lot of rocks. The truck is in my garage now w/ rocks throughout the tread on each tire from just a dirt parking lot we were at this weekend. Great tire but it's something you should expect to happen if you purchase them.

Not unexpected. Especially with an AT.

I wish there was a way to quantifiably figure out the tire that throws the least amount of rocks.

Exactly, it's going to happen w/ this tread pattern. I can say that my Toyo Open Countty R/Ts didn't really p/u and throw rocks but it's a hybrid tire, sitting between an a/t and an m/t, that's got a more aggressive tread pattern. Those tires were great but they're pretty pricey.

Seconded - mine also grab a ton. Glad I got mudflaps prior to installing (and for the sake of cars behind me).

These only have stone ejectors on the outside edge of the tread, but I find they are about on par with my old Falken's for how many stones they throw.

Stoked on the 265/70/17 RAZR AT XL's. Installed about two weeks ago with 2021 TRD Pro Reps wheels. Stock suspension, no mud flaps, no rub. Ride quality totally improved with truck feeling much more stable and comfortable with less transfer of road chop and reduced front end brake dive.

Just placed an order with Simple Tire for the LT265/75R16E. Installation next week. I'll start a separate, dedicated review thread once installed.

Just got these Maxxis mounted up today on some FN 5 stars. 285x70x17 SL. Tires weighed 44.2 LB's, wheel combo is 65.4 LB's. Impressed that there was no more than 1 3/4 oz of weight to balance. Cant wait to throw them on the trk in next couple days.

Looks like they took the time to index the tire to the valve stem correctly which definitely helps for some good balancing.
    Nice setup.

So far so good. Got in some gnarly flooding rain Friday night from tropical system and tires were great
