Also figured i would add this in bring a tank and half of fuel unless you wanna pay 6-7+ bucks a gallon after the golden road you got a whole option of one gas station with jacked up prices. Also have to pay to use the golden road. I plan on loading up 30 gallons of gas in the bed

Yeah, Tacos have a full sized spare under the bed. It would be a really good idea to take it down some time and give it a look over though. Depending on how old your truck is, the pressure will be low and the sidewalls may be badly worn from where the top rides up against the metal frame that holds the assembly in place. Also, good to make sure the chain hoist thing isnt getting too rusty.

Edit: I see you have a newer truck. You should be fine. But still worth taking it down and giving it a look over just to familiarize yourself with it
Thats a very good point. I have never been through a NMW checkpoint in the summer - only ever been in the off seasons and the winter
But I've heard the same rumor. I think it will depend on how big our group is. But its something we will need to think about and come up with a game plan before we get there

As a note, checkpoints only accept cash or check

I believe that we would need to call North Main Woods and register. They will let us know if there is a restriction preventing groups, fires, or potential mud season restrictions.

My wifes family has a camp up there we could use as a point to use the road because right of access to the road without ever going there.

We could say that "we" are going to the camp off elm pond rd and they would have to allow us access since Its right of way access because you could only get there off golden road.

Nice yeah my uncle always talked about those tents. He gets to go up every year..... knows about 20+ people who put in and always tags along. He says those tents rock.

We went last week of september and holy shit was it cold... and wet. We shot the bull in a bog and had to walk on the will it hold me moss to get to him i was soaked up to my stomach since i was leading the way. Had to wait 3 hours for the truck to arrive with guys. Never been so cold in my life...

I think i actually talked my dad into going with us up there.. something he would love to see. Has parkinsons and is progressing to quickly... may be the only time i can drag him along and he said yes. It will be fun to take him up there and show him the "Real Maine Woods."

That would be wicked handy for a few trucks to break off into a smaller group either before or after the main group and say you guys were all going to your camp. Just to make everything easier at the checkpost
