Still waiting for the second coil spring insulator. Filing a complaint if it isnt here tomorrow. Already a week past the expected delivery date without any reply from seller.
Got Energy Suspension dust boots installed and driver side back together. Boot didnt split this time.
Working on the trailer a bit. Cut a bunch of 2x4s down to make header panels that the trim screws will catch to help hold the exterior trim on and help give something for the walls to attach to. I will use the router to finish them up tomorrow and will cut other 2x4s to 1 1/16in x 1 1/16in x 6ft 1/2in to fit inside the metal studs to give the walls and side panel screws something to bite into. Some of the exterior screws are stripped out.
Ill get some pics tomorrow. The wall studs will go in after the header panels and trim get put on and the floor gets taken out.

Well, vendor said the insulator was "lost in transit". I had already ordered one from another vendor by the time they replied.
Anyways. Got the body back on the frame.

Here is why I could see the ground through to floor corners of the trailer.

So, when I loaded the rolling frame on my trailer last time, it took me over an hour with my lil portable winch. It really didnt like doing it. I decided that I needed to go a lil bit bigger.

Pulled the floor up. Will be cleaning, adding braces, painting it. LOTS of uncoated metal that will be cleaned and coated in bedliner. I also dont like how they wired it with the big a&& junction box, so I will rewire it also.

Bracing tacked in. Ill weld them in and the top joints of the crossmembers (manuf. Only put 1/2-3/4" welds on the sides of the crossmembers to the frame rails) after dinner. Ill clean and start painting it all tomorrow. Monday, I am picking up some parts. Tuesday, I will start wiring it up.

Update on the Airstream. All major work is complete. It is now completely usable. Need to pick up some door handles and retainers. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to trim the front windows.

How good of a job does that A/C do?

I had one a few years ago and I thought it was garbage. I hope they have improved.

It has trouble cooling down when it is above 80 (takes a long time). However, if it gets turned on when it is below 80 it will easily drop to 68 and maintain it on low. The key is to have a small fan on the back side of the trailer to help circulate air. The heat pump works well.

Yeah. It has a couple spots that didnt bend exactly how I wanted ( actually stayed straight). However, it fits well and once the curtain is hanging, it blends it all together and you cant really see that it isnt curved all the way.

Picked up a "new" Dometic round sink with folding faucet ($150), and a new LCI 18ft Solera awning tube and fabric ($250) for the new trailer.
Sink will go in the kitchen. The awning will get cut down to make a patio awning on the curb side of the trailer and a window awning on the street side.

Alrighty. Finished painting the studs with chassis paint and got the first coat of bedliner painted onto the frame. Tomorrow, I will get a second coat put on. By the time I was done with the first, I ended up having to use my cane to walk. So, tomorrow, I will do the second coat sitting on my creeper.
After the second coat is on and set (about half an hour), I am going to start putting the wood studs into the channel of the metal studs.
I decided that I am going to change the side door out for a RV radius corner entry door. That will be next months budget allotment.

I hear ya. I usually risk it and weld in shorts and sandles.

Its bolted on for now with thread locker. Ill pull it off later to sandblast the brackets. Then I will weld them to the trailer and put a spot weld on each nut/bolt. Ill figure out where I will put the box & battery after I get the location of the car on the trailer set and tie down (tire nets) points welded down.
