Door installed. Ill wrap it later. Either black or dark grey if I can find one that matches the color of the trailer. Im waiting for the glue to dry on the backing plates, then I will put the awning rail on.

I changed out the door assembly. The original door didnt seal as well as I wanted and would interfere with the awning due to having square edges. With the RV door beibg narrower with radius corners, it will have enough clearance to mount the awning rail right above the roof trim. I ended up cutting 2" off the door height to get it to fit in the original opening.
I had put a tinted window in the original door, but it is a little smaller than the window in the new door, so I will put it in the rear curb side door to match the one that is in the rear street side door.
I like these windows because they fit between the ribs in the doors, and they have built in black out blinds.

I got 5/8 of the drop ceiling raftors cut to size and held up with cleco pins. I give the neighbors sundays with no tool noise, so I will cut down the other three and make the attachment parts on monday.
Also, I made the roof reinforcement for the AC today. Just need to weld the mounting pads (currently held on with cleco pins) to the raftors.

I am doing a drop ceiling from front to back. This will give me the ability to strengthen the roof while also allowing me to insulate the roof and give me a place to run wiring. I am going to use a large skylight above the shower for headroom. It will be in the drop ceiling, but not go through the roof.

I wish I had put my power inlet in while I still had the plywood off the wall. Mine has a small pigtail attached so I might add mine to the skirt area under the floor level and reinforce the backside and then drill for the pigtail into the floor at the front. In reality once my solar system is completely installed the power inlet is more to keep things running while at home or when my generator is running at the racetrack. Will be a nice finishing touch once I get it in.

I love your awning. I keep searching from time to time but it isn’t a huge priority nor a huge nessecity. Would be a nice addition for ease of setup and comfort. For now I have tarp awnings and a 10x10 canopy.

The power inlet is too long to fit in the 1 1/4" thick wall, so it would have required a small box to cover it inside. I decided instead to mount it forward of the axle, that way it is inside the kitchen cabinet.
I plan to put the power box up front in the corner cabinet.
I still have a 10x10 canopy with the trailer, but the awning is nice to have. I plan to make window awnings on the other side using solar panels (eventually).

Had an extra inlet. So, I turned it into an outlet.

Mounted here because it will allow use of the fender as a table and it is low enough to be inside the battery box cabinet/bench box that is going to be on that side.20180903_192118.jpg

Taking the roof bow supports to the sandblaster tomorrow. When they get back, I will paint all but the weld points. Hopefully I will get them welded in this weekend or next week, then I will start the spray foam insulation process.
Yesterday, I trimmed and glued the floor plywood down and finished cutting the hole for the second back window. Couldnt install it because the screws are MIA.

Made filler panels for the crap the factory did up front. This will give a place for insulation and sealant to seal the gaps.
The black lines are the edges of the floor and the steel rib.

Also added area (white) lights. 3 on either side. I may add more.

Got the roof supports back from the sandblaster. Priming them with Rustoleum clean metal primer, paint will follow. Using bright yellow because it was a buck cheaper than the other colors. They are sitting on the bathroom/kitchen wall.
    20180906_194558.jpg
But, I am taking a break because my back feels like it is ripping apart.
Side note to that. Stopped by the VA today to schedule an appt with my primary to discuss knee (gotten much worse), back (getting worse still after a couple surgeries and lots of steroids), and ulnar nerves (again....). Last one took over a month to get it. Today, they asked if tomorrow would work. I was dumbfounded for a moment.

Got the metal painted and up. Now I wont have metal with rust from my hands. I was able to hang (240lbs) from the AC support without the roof really caring too much and I dont even have the bathroom/kitchen wall up yet. So, if 100lb AC needs a 200lb static load roof, I think Im good to go.

Started raining a bit. Since Ive cut a bunch of holes and put in a bunch of screws for stuff, I decided to do a leak check.
Im glad I did, I found that the factory roof seal failed. It is where the front cap (plastic) and the roof (aluminum) meet. There is a piece of trim that covers the joint and they sealed the edge with silicone. Unfortunately, it didnt hold. So, probably thursday, I will rip off the factory silicone and seal it with ProFlex sealant.
But, nothing that I have done leaks and the repairs Ive done to fix the factory f*** ups are nice and dry.

Try butyl tape. Sandwich it between the cap and aluminium and then seal over that. It stays flexible and won’t crack.

Me and butyl tape are familiar, unfortunately... It actually has butyl tape under the rail, but they didnt run it all the way to the junction of the top and side rails. I probably have enough left over from the Airstream and the door I added to my trailer to do a new one on the roof. Im just not looking forward to pulling the trim off.
The trim has silicone on the back edge, but a rubberized sealant on the front edge that has bubble holes in it but is near impossible to get off the plastic cleanly. But yeah, I decided this morning to pull the trim and do it right rather than just covering up a f*** up.
