This got lost in What have you done to your Tacoma today? thread.

Black Horse RB003BK Off Road Roll Bar.
Roll Bar RB003BK - Black | Fits 15-19 GMC Canyon and 15-19 Chevy Colorado

Cosmetic only. I love the roll bar, hate the 1 inch overhang on the side and it's not quite tall enough. Need to decide if I keep it or remove. I'm not exactly going to allow TacomaWorld to decide for me, but could use some feedback or suggestions. I might even need a beefier bumper to even out the look.

    Thanks guys.

    I actually really like it!

It’s funny, I was thinking of things to do to my Gen3 to make it retro.

-roll bar / KC lights with smiley face covers
    -Floppy mud flaps
    -Big tires

    ... maybe dice valve caps.

    230k and counting!
It looks awkwardly wide on top of the bed rails, not sure if I could ever get used to that.

    Nice Taco, otherwise!

    Like, so many.
I like roll bar, but it doesn’t seem to fit quite right.

you got it exactly. The interior mounting fits perfectly, the wide on top of bed rails is the issue. Been a week, still trying to get used to it.

If you or a friend have the fab skills and equipment you could cut 2" out of the center where the light goes and weld it back together?

got a shop that will do it for me, will probably cost more than the roll bar itself.

What diameter is the tube you need to cut?
Can you cut the 2" out of the tube like Aksavanaman said and then make an inside sleave out of exhaust tube? 1 bolt on each side would bolt it all back together.
Dont forget that most (if not all) of those light bars (that everyone called roll bars) back in the 80's were just bolt together deals.

the McFly inspired I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm having fun build continues. ARB really balances out the overhang on the roll bar/light bar.

Next step is probably some KC lights. But due to unprecedented times and all that I might wait until 2021 to spend any more money.

Go Rhino makes roll bars for the 01-04 Tacoma, but they are expensive AF for what they are, IMO.

    upload_2020-4-29_16-8-38.jpg

and that's the cheapest one they make. The triple hooped one is twice the cost.

I looked at the Rhino, and despite the mall crawler poser that I am, I use the bed of my truck ... often. Firewood, bark dust, topsoil, gravel. Mostly that sort of thing. I didn't want to lose bed space with the floor mounted bed bar. So I got myself into the bind I'm in with the rail mount, and trying to make the best of it without giving up.
