    Hello all,
I have an 18 Tacoma that I am wanting to put a small lift on mainly for aesthetics as I don't do much off roading with this being my daily driver. I've looked at 4wheel parts, tuff country 2/1 lift which is spacer and block and should give me the look I am wanting but like to see if anyone has experience with that type set up and could give some feedback on ride quality etc.
    Thanks

Kinda. I put a spacer lift on my wifes 2WD 2015 4runner. Got it installed and aligned and there is no difference in ride.

I went to Stigler Alignment (i know the owner). Lemme know you experience with 4wheelparts. I've heard good and some bad things. But a simple lift like yours shouldn't be anything. When you get into the 6in lifts and cab mount chops things get much more complicated

Me personally, i'm about to buy a bilstein lift from headstrong and then have someone install it. 4WP can't touch headstrongs price or CS http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/faq-page.html

Thanks... I too am contemplating Billsteins and AAL... Headstrong has great pricing just struggle with finding someone to do that install.. Something Stigler can do?

yup. and it's gonna get done right?

just to give you some perspective (and i don't want to "bash" anyone's price) on what you should expect. for a spacer lift on my wifes 4runner

Spyder - told me $500 plus and they were 2-3 weeks out
4WheelParts - told me $400ish but that didn't include algnment and that was 2-3 weeks out
Stigler - Paid just south of $500 total, got it in less than a week, and i know who's working on my cars (they have low turnover)

I know people are gonna say that's crazy to pay that price. While i agree, but it's a time thing and experience. I've watched enough youtube videos to where i feel i could do it myself if pressed, but i lack the spine to tell my wife if i screw up her ride! LOL.:D

Smart man.....keep the wifey happy. 4wheel parts quoted me $500 including alignment. Think it’s an ok price just never had any dealings with them. I’m checking the dealer just to see how they may price it.
    Thanks for all you insight!

Install it yourself. It really isn't that hard. Can be done in 1/2 a day, by someone of average mechanical ability. There are videos on Youtube to show you how. Post up in the TN thread for someone local with experience to help. Probably only cost you a case of beer...

I did the bilstein 5100's lift and love it. 1 inch spacer in the rear. Paid $930 installed at 4 wheel parts.

Truck looks great!!! Thanks for the info.
Question. Did you do 5100s and coils or reuse factory coils on front?

Having had a spacer lift myself my recommendation would be to not do it. I would recommend bilsteins. Spacer lifts tend to give a harsher ride. Plus you set yourself up for a future in offroading. Better to spend the money now on a budget friendly functional lift than have to spend more later to upgrade.

Truck looks good. I'm contemplating getting one of the new ones Trying to figure out if its cheaper to buy now or save and buy later (it's almost a wash).

Thanks! Its has taken a few months but its just about were I want it. Stuff gets expensive! I used the factory coils with bilsteins all the way around (plus 1 inch spacer in the rear). Honestly the ride quality is very similar to factory and I'm very pleased. My truck never goes off road so I can't speak to performance there. I researched lifts for literally months before doing this and couldn't be happier. If you are not careful you will convince yourself you need a stage 6 icon kit.. :) My other option was OME kit but happy with the bilsteins.

Prior to this truck I had a 13 sport with a spacer lift and it was really rough.. Does the trick and you get the look but your ride suffers.

Thanks for the great insights. Leaning that same way you’ve done.
