so long story short my dad WAS an active person untill he tore his meniscus surfing.. (like two years ago) he was in major pain every day for two years and he was refusing to get the surgery.... but finally on thursday hes going in for the surgery.. he wont be able to walk for a while and will be living downstairs for like 2 months...

so please pray that the surgery goes well and successful and the road to a long excruciating recovery goes by fast and easy....

    thanks guys!

everyone recovers differently. I have patients that had that procedure done and walk it off in a week, others took a little longer. Physical therapy is a big key in recovery. Prayers out to your dad.

Will do! ACL and cartilage gone in me left knee, and most missing in my right, will be 56 soon, and I still manage to get around decent on most days, although I have "Forest Gump"(Don Joy) braces that are great for mowing and hillside terrain. No doubt he'll recover quickly, as was mentioned, P.T. helps immensely, especially if it be a civilian medical team...;) Let us know how it goes...

    I agree with tallyman89.

Had mine done last Feb. and was hopping around in about 2 days. I was told to make sure I don't baby it and it should heal faster. Today I don't even realize that I had the surgery and I'm 58.

Had this surgery done twice myself (same knee). Nothing to it. He should be in good shape in no time and kicking himself for not getting it done sooner. Tell him good luck from all of us at TW! :)
