Hello folks. Ordered a ToyTech Bilstein 5100 kit with the COs assembled. I had initially planned on doing the install myself, but had to move stuff to garage, so no place to do it. So, I'm looking for recommendations a local quality shop that will install the lift.

    Thanks,

You do not even need a garage to do that. It's a pretty easy job that you can do yourself on a driveway. Having somebody else to help will make things easier for sure.

But if you must take it to a shop because of the hot weather or just convenience, try this one: http://sdhqoffroad.com/

Not sure if they actually do work with customer-supplied parts, but they have a good reputation and have built a few toyotas in the past.

Personally, I would save the money and do it myself.

you're right, last time I called SDHQ, they would only install parts bought from them.

I had Sierra Expedition in Mesa assemble my coils for my 5100s. They also gave me the best quote for full install too.

thinking $60 or $80, 2 yrs ago. always used rented spring compressors, but the coils of the Tacoma were too close together to fit the spring compressor in between. I remember seeing a post of someone local that created a spring compressor that attached to the top hat and strut.

OH-MAN has a prehistoric spring compressor that has done numerous setups, including mine, without any hiccups

Thanks for all the input everyone.

I had the install done at LetzRoll Offroad. They did a good job for a great price. Their shop is pretty awesome and Andrew is a great guy.

Talk about a small world. Letzroll is doing a SAS on my tacoma LOL.

i think I was there the day you dropped off your truck. You drive a White newer tacoma? I was dropping off some parts for my project.

They do amazing work. Andrew's da man and knows his stuff.I'm sure u know he has quite a remarkable career in professional racing.

No offense, but i didn't even think about recommending them for what you needed because they are more of a hard core offroad and fabrication shop. Typically, people don't go to those places for basic lift kit installations lol :D

Had you mention fabrication needs, gear installation, custom axle builds etc i would have mentioned them right away.

Glad to hear they installed the lift for you. They do good work in anything they do.

LOL ya. That shop and all those rigs definitely made my susp hardware look like childsplay. Some serious rigs being worked on there. I'll most likely have them fab up some bumpers for me later down the road.
I picked them because they're close to my house and on the way to work, and they looked like they did solid work.

    Convenience is everything haha.

Did you get to see the racing rigs Andrew owns? Insane stuff. They definitely build over the top amazing rigs there.

Things escalate quickly. Before you realize it you'll be bringing your tacoma back for big axles, big tires, etc. lol

Ya, he took me for a tour of the facility. His Hammers rig is insane. Just pure awesome.
And ya, they do escalate quickly. I had a XJ for years that went from stock to a light crawler/overland build pretty quickly. Trying to avoid that again but I fear it's already too late. I have a hard time leaving anything stock. :( That being said, this is the first time in my life that I haven't done the work myself. I feel a lil filthy and shame filled now.

It's all about convenience. even if your lift kit was easy, with 115 degree weather outside it's not a bad idea to have somebody do The install.

I don't feel bad about not working on my truck anymore. I work 12hr days five days a week.

Did u increade your tire size after the lift install?

Did the lift, tires, wheels and last night I installed my step bars. Driveway was still hot at 8:30PM after 3 attempts to cool it with the hose plus a shop fan.

I feel like the back sags a bit, but not entirely sure. First two pics pre step bars of course.

    Truck looks great!

It's hard to tell from the pics. In some pics it looks like the rear end is sagging a little, in others it looks fine. What did you do for the rear? If you installed add-a-leafs, most of the time the cause the leaf pack to sag.
