Hey Stew, question....I just ordered a recessed BAMF grill, as they were on sale for Labor Day. I saw that there could be a problem with cracking/wear around the plastic trim. Since you're Lord OCD Engineer, did you address those concerns when you installed yours or did you just install and let the thing eat?

I saw they suggested a fiberglass repair kit to reinforce some trouble spots.

Mine was one of the first off the production line.. so it's been installed for a while. I did not use any extra support brackets/fiberglass/etc and have not had any problems. My only gripe is the screw heads have a little surface rust on them (now the they come with rubber grommets to address the issue). Albeit it is a bit heavy, but overall I love it.

    Gracias!

Yeah, I wasn't too fond of how bulky they are..but after some trimming they look like they belong.

I got the rears done. Drilling holes in the rear bedside was not the easiest to do..but must be done.

The rear fenders will get trimmed down, and also cut along the back. Whenever my rear bumper comes in..

Most LED's are under powered and/or have low current draw so they won't get very hot. However, these Baja's have a serious high performance emitter.(looks like a Luxeon Rebel). And with high output = Heat...No way around it. YES these get hot!(while testing them on the bench, they were getting pretty toasty after being on for an extended period of time).
To combat this... I mounted them on my metal grill with aluminum brackets behind them. This will transfer some heat using the grill as a big heatsink. Combined with being at the front of the truck(air circulation while driving) will hopefully aid as well.

Well good on you for committing, it came out absolutely perfect! High clearance rear bumper in the future?

Hmmm, so I guess these would not be something you would drive around with on all the time then?

I am an older guy with the "Lights On For Safety" mentality so I basically don't turn any of my lights off, ever. I guess since I commute more than joy ride or when I do joy ride it is in moderate to heavy traffic situations. Also I used to ride motorcycles and newer bikes don't have the ability to turn them off (my 82' Roadster did lol) .......again, safety reasons. So it's just something of a habit I developed.

And I like three but wanted to be different so I was thinking more, maybe six or seven, lol. These are a little pricey so that would be down the road......So if you start seeing that you heard it here first.

I do like how they look on your truck though, and think they would look great on my Inferno, especially once I black out the grill and get the Devil Horns on Fire on there.

    Thanks for the info!

How much vinyl did you have to use for the hood/scoop? Did you do your roof yourself as well or did you have that done at a shop?

I think i used about. 2"x3" piece for the hood. Yes I wrapped the hood and roof myself. The roof is a little tricky because you have to drop the headliner to remove the antenna and brake light(if you want a clean install)
