Broke down and ordered a set. I just kept coming back to how much I like the thought of the ground/general area being lit at night for myself and/or a passenger entering my truck coupled with how nice they look. Excited to get them in and installed.

There are precious few rockers available in Toyota size small which are suitable for lighting that allow ON/OFF/Auto. There is an A/B rocker from ABC but it's not quite as sexy.

I don't personally find the switch tremendously useful but then again my truck mostly sits in the driveway laughing at me so it's hard for it to be useful at anything beyond mockery.

I do think it might be nice to use the switch for aux driving lights or some other purpose such that auto follows high beams, on is on and off is off. So I had to have it even if I didn't use it for the puddles themselves.

I believe the ECU turns off the dome at a configurable duration so that leaving a door open doesn't drain the battery.

I can definitely see the value of looking super stealth when parking somewhere a bit more sketchy, for this reason I may well do my rock lights off this circuit via relay so I can easily nuke them when I want to avoid drawing attention.

Dome is my switch-pros aux trigger. I was thinking today that it might be interesting to change that to the puddle switch output so I could override the trigger instead of having to disable one or more switch-pros zones. Hence the rock light idea mentioned above. But I'm on the 5 year rock light plan, tons of rock lights, tons of wires, short on time.

I don't remember signing up for in stock notification, but I got an e-mail so I ordered them. Now I need to find where I put my footwell lights splitter harness. :anonymous:

We made those available for sale separately in the case someone loses theirs:
    https://www.vleds.com/replacement-parts/footwell/fwk-m-puddle-pod-splitter.html

Due to lack of use, the splitter in the next round of kits will not be standard fyi. 99% of people were chucking them.

Good to know. I know I saved it, I just need to find where I put it.

Edit: I found it, It was in the original box. Now I'm off to get my wisdom teeth removed.

Mine should be here tomorrow. I’m debating on the footwells to do at the same time so I only have to take the trim piece off once.

Which footwells are you installing? I've thought about doing this as well.

You'll have to anyway if you decide to install the switch.

@kmorgan3 did such a great job and to support (i hope) TW venders, I’m going with the ones they designed. If you’ve not seen the check them out here- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/footwell-lights-that-don’t-suck.735488/
He has links to the shops selling them. Though he pointed out you’ll need to buy the harness from now on for $5.00.

That’s true. I’m thinking I’ll probably not get the switch and if I do want a switch, I’d opt for something like a switch pro and make more work for myself lol.
