How hard you think it’s gonna be to run the wire through the door?

probably won't be bad but its tedious. I did it in my 15 wrx for almost the same thing, drl/puddle lights with turn signal. The wire should be pretty easy to fish through, I haven't messed with my taco yet though. lol I got the white drl.

It's not TOO terrible. The trick is to pull the boot out of both sides (door and body), cut any tape as needed and cram your hands in the door jam to work it through.

Thank god I held off on installing my puddle pods until these came out. I kept hearing the boot is a PITA so it’ll be nice to knock em both out at the same time.

Fish tape did the trick, made running the wire through the boot easy.

Yeah, that works too. Did you do it without pulling the boot apart? I did some pretty thick speaker wire through there and it wasn't too bad once I figured out how to make it easy on myself.

I pulled the boot apart, I removed the tape on the ends to make it easier to pull the wires through. I had a harder time pulling the extra pigtail on the mirrors than door boot.

I have the newest Meso puddle light kit with the updated harness that has the extra unused wire in the mirror that's marked "use for V5 signals when available". Would I still need to run additional cables through the door? It looks like the newest signals have a DRL high and DRL dim inputs just like the headlights so I'm thinking that single wire might not cut it now. I'm guessing that you could just use the DRL high input with that wire and just have them at maximum brightness all the time.

Imo it's not bad at all. My passengers side has speaker wire, puddle harness and a passengers door mod harness running through it haha.

I’m curious, if you hook up that wire to the puddle pod would that mean that the turn signal drl would only go on when the puddle pod lights turn on?

I’m thinking I’ll likely wire it to the headlight since I kinda like the idea of the drl stalk being able to turn off the turn signal drls
