Meso V5 turn signals are out!!!!

I've come up with various solutions for those needing the DRL select function without leaving the Cab. The fellas haven't chimed in to which, if any, will they agree on.

 

In case youre asking, my preference would be SPDT On-off-On with on full time, off, or on with factory DRL's. I have other lights wired this way with high beams, reverse lights etc but not on this rig. I also wonder, can we just tap into existing puddle lights that are already in the mirror, not the always on extra connector but to be powered by and come on only when puddles come on, like a vampire tap on the puddle pod hot wire.

Only if the LED's have independent grounds. And I just verified, they don't.

But (@Criera ): No tie to the DRL ON/OFF though.

I don't know if you already have the cab fuse panel full of taps...But if the circuits are already tapped, you could add to them. They are LED's and the ON like the puddles has it's own fuse, but they will not dim off, just stay ON until the dimming to OFF is done in the cab illumination circuit.

 

This would accomplish what you want:

But you would loose the Hazards and Unlock Blink when vehicle is OFF. Don't know if vehicle inspection requires/includes the mirror turns.

Too many wires to exit the mirror housing into the cable orifice of the door...

22/4 cable to Driver's & Passenger's door controls...to rotary micro switch...

 

Fused IGN at the various door connectors for the DRL High & Low inputs.(switch illumination)

On P18 with Jam Protection feature the IGN source is pin 13. Pin 3 is Battery Hot always.

 

So us no puddle guys, could tap into one of these wires for the drl versus to the engine bay?

 

You guys would have no control on turning them on via the light stalk switch is all. (thought you had an SR) ON @ ignition, dim when parking/dash/tails is ON.
Edit: there is a solution for those with the DRL option on the Light Stalk switch...trying to cleanup and make plug n play...

 

I ordered the amber/amber and don’t want the amber DRL’s to dim, so I’m just using an add-a-fuse to the tail fuse under the dash. They’ll come on with my raptor lights, and I can still shut all lights off from the stalk.

 

For your setup you could've just tapped the illumination wire on each the door switches.

 

Are they dimmable though? Like when you dim the panel lights, they would also dim?

 

You would NOT be sharing the ground side of the illumination.

 

Hmm, I like the thought of not having to go through the door boots! How would one find this magical illumination wire?
