Do you have the skills to remove the arm rest where the switches are on the front passenger door?

Got mine today, and installed today! All LEDs working so far! They are bright af! Wired the DRL into the door illumination thanks to @caribe makaira ’s suggestion to avoid the dreaded door boots. Works like a charm! Love my V5’s! Thanks Meso!:D:101010:

So, recognizing this is embarrassing.....does anyone have a "Wiring Connections For Dummies" version of how to connect the V5s to get the DRL illumination? Is the install video on @MESO 's page for switchbacks the right way to go? I understand how to install them - just don't get how to wire them to get the DRL function.

    Color me embarrassed, but.....

I'll take a stab (please correct me if I'm wrong)...

By any chance did you purchase the add-on T-harness for the front headlights? This harness makes it easy to match the DRLs "Bright and Dim" function. Otherwise, you'll need to tap into the headlight harness (non OEM LED) to get this function (using the positive wires only). This feature requires removing both door panels, and running wires through the door boot, through the firewall, and into the engine bay.

Or, you can settle for Bright DRLs only, and tap into either puddle pods (if you have them), or the window switch (as @caribe makaira suggested above). Frankly, you can use just about any "switched positive wire" for full Bright illumination, but the window switch is super convient.

The Bright and Dim function allows Bright during full sun, or DRL only, and Dim setting at night when the headlights are ON (an unknown function to most).

@daveeasa makes a T-harness for the new LED headlights in the inrerim found here. This is only until @MESO starts producing his own.

@daveeasa might catch on, and make a PNP harness to tap into the window switch, similar to the ktjo bowl lights, but without the "interior dimmable dash light" function. Otherwise, you might need vampire clips, or a solid T-tap. That's why the puddle pods are convient because @MESO included an extra lead plug for something like this.

    Hope this helps! :D

Thanks! I have LED headlights so I can't use the current MESO T-harness. (Right?) I'll check out @daveeasa 's T-harness..or perhaps wait for MESO to do his. Maybe, I just need to find someone smart enough to wire this up for me. :D

I would actually like to wire mine so they work with the headlights rather than the drls. Just like my old FJ Cruiser mirror lights.

I suggest installing them now, to verify the illumination. Turn select feature of choice and the DRL High & Dim.
Run the DRL dual wire through the door and either:
1 - Leave it coiled n taped between the door and door panel.
2- Run through the door boot and leave it coiled and taped also.
When the Team is ready everyone will have a few choices for parallel control of the DRL settings of the V5.

If the choice is only DRL High all the time (Red wire only): Fused IGN source at the door could be the choice.
If the choice is DRL High then Dim, door is also a source choice.
The issue with this one is: you loose DRL High at parking light input and no headlights (not OEM style - switch to dim at Low Beam) Canadian version are "special" with the TAIL circuit always ON.

    Passenger's side -
De-pinning the connector removing the terminal, crimping a new one with dual wires is also a choice.
V5 DRL would get Bright input on fused IGN source (#2 wire) and they would DIM when the input of the illumination wire source is available (#6 wire)
