I'm TRYING to take care of the engine, but too many damn incompetent people these days???

I was saving up for LCE headers (long tube), catback, and SC... all Cali legal. Planning on doing a mid-travel type setup as well with resi rears.

My end goal is "stock", but better than stock.

Oh, likely a stage1 cam and Detroit TrueTrac LSD front/rear.

First thing first, get my little girl healthy again is my main goal. :(

@OnHartung'sRoad when my rig is back up and healthy, we gotta plan an outting. :notsure:

I need to learn the ropes on how to "desert hunt"? Plus, I will likely learn new techniques I never knew.

You bet, several here would be into that! How’s about in fall when temps go back to tolerable?

I'm definitely all for that, but my rig is not gonna be ready I can guarantee that.

My Civic is fixed. I was able to change the cam shaft position sensor today and so far so good.

    Anyways...

Finally got a chance to get out swinging for a couple of hours today... didn't exactly win the lottery, but it was nice, and hey, what's wrong with a free $3.36?

@OnHartung'sRoad So my bottom end is "out" from what could be heard and it's HIGHLY likely a rod bearing that is gone. I was told that depending on how badly scored the crank is it's gonna be expensive, which I already knew and figured to be the case regarding "expensive". :(

Anyways, already looking into a short block rebuild. Does anyone know of a reliable rebuild manufacturer?

Here’s my haul for today - $.43 and some other weird items with my Nox. I was out for a couple hours near Temecula. I found a place next to the river levee and figured it would be old stuff. Does anyone know what the pointy thing is? Looks like it’s made with surgical stainless steel. I hope my dentist never tries using something like that on me!

It’s all modern stuff, not even a wheat back! :( Oh well, was fun anyway and good practice pinpointing and making setting adjustments. Lots of bullets, I was surprised so close to town. Maybe there was an older part of the deposits and the more modern 90’s trash was dumped above it. DC8B1B18-E194-4279-9E97-FC9ABCCD21FC.jpg

It looks kind of like a cuticle pusher.

Were you up near the 'backside' of Palomar or closer to town?

Hmm, never pushed my cuticles, how’d you know about that? o_O
    :)

Those trails going up to Palomar are great, I forgot the name of it but there’s a great one off 79 a few miles east of Anza road that is really fun that goes up and over to Pala. Unfortunately, I had to stay close in town waiting for my daughter to get out of an appointment, so I was next to the river north of Winchester road, there are open fields out there along the riverbed.

I know, huh? Probably a cleaned up dump site and the small stuff was left behind. And I thought it would be a good place for older stuff, oh well!

F41C0432-2AD3-4F07-80A6-3895C81599F4.jpg Back at the same spot in Temecula today, trying out my Nox settings. I figure there’s no better place to try it than in a trashy place, finding lots of pennies, pulltabs, and what not. Dug a pretty deep hole to find this piece of concrete that had a little tiny wire stuck in it, I really like the stock 11 inch coil, it senses small stuff pretty deep. Discrimination is working pretty well too, I really like this thing!
