I have a couple in my garage that I picked up laying curb side. Someone was throwing them out, I thought they looked kinda neat. I will post a pic tomorrow.

Dude, this is great! Those are certainly keepers! I bet there are more out there.

For years Kovels' Bottle Guides were the gold standard for valuation. I don't know if that still stands..... I think bottle values are very subjective.

Sad ive pulled out maybe 12 or more intact bottles at this site some big some small.but when i left for Air Force, i left them at home, and when my mom died i never got them, then over the years the "house" basically had to be burned down since it was abandoned and the bottles were taken or destroyed...

I am aware of two Minelab 1000 machines. The Gold Monster 1000 is a gold prospecting machine and I hear good things about it.
The Minelab Excaliber II 1000 is a treasure/coin machine. I don't have any expirience with this one, but suspect it is a decent machine.

Made some progress on that log cabin, i was mistaken about the nails, i could sworn it was square nail but they were round. I did find a dump site near it though, me and neighbor found it. Found this part of stove and some food cans and couple bottles.

This site looks good! You could maybe do some research on the log cabin build techniques to get an estimate on when it was built. Some of the wood looks like full dimensional lumber.
It looks like the site has a bunch of leaf litter. That might be good as it can hide stuff laying on the ground. This place looks very interesting!
I hope you find cool stuff!

Bottle at the bottom of where the trash/dump site we found was from 1930 ish. The cabin fits the time frame with the round nails and dimensional lumber. We havent got a metal detector out there yet

not in recent years...the one bottle I found was buried by a tree about 6" in diameter, looked like the tree grew up and pulled the stuff up with it,but it was still covered. What does look weird is maybe it was a pit but theres stuff at the top and rolled in/down to where the tree grew. could just be the way the ground was but looks a little odd. Also unknown is how long the people lived there. there wasnt a lot of sign like it was there too much past the 30's from the bottle age is my best guess. still no outhouse that I could see, I did find a burn barrel and a shovel behind the house, burn barrel was 50' feet or so and shovel was leaned up against a tree but the handle was long gone.

the other thing I was thinking of, it may have been raided of stuff years ago. since there didnt seem to be much trace of "living" there. Such as pots/pans/axes etc unless they took most of that with them. I did find that shovel, perhaps stuff is buried? The quasi cellar didnt look very deep but maybe that too has filled in over the years? It was maybe what appeared to be 3 to 4' deep? But theres not much of a roof left so that too could have been deeper and filled in over the years. We did find a smashed copper pot of some sort, but it wasnt recognizable as it was flat. But I scratched the bottom of it and it shined like a new penny. Doesnt look like any "still" related stuff that I could tell. there was a robin egg blue enamel ware pot, no handles but bottom was rusted out.

There is a good chance that the occupants took much of their stuff with them. And I'm sure people came after and took whatever was left laying around. People have a tendency to do that.
They may have had a root cellar for food storage. Does it look like there is wood material laying around, enough to make a floor? Often times the building materials will disappear also. Although, the more remote a site is, the greater likelihood it will stay intact. Did the copper pot have any markings on it? Maybe this was a hunting cabin and people were not there full time. It raises lots of questions doesn't it? I love that!

Yes lot of floor debris, part of the gable of the roof is intact. Looks like most of the roof fell in along with the floor. I figure a cellar shouldbe 5-6'. I didnt look too close at the pot, almost reminded me of a spitoon. Im itching to dig this place since its not on private property. Only thing that makes me think it wasnt a hunting cabin, is the bottle of almond hand cream we found. The advertising i found was for dishpan hands , not very manly...lol
