Yeah, I'm trying to avoid ones that have logos or look expensive. I may just stuff it in some dirty coveralls.

One guy on a different forum suggested using a $15 Walmart sleeping bag- sew a couple dividers in it to hold coils, detector, etc and they are well cushioned.
    I may go that route:

That is not a bad idea at all. I can't sew for shi* though. :notsure:

I'm content enough with my detector bags that I have, but still, not a bad idea about using a sleeping bag.

So far nothing real interesting in back yard. Half a horse shoe, and some unknown metal. Bullet and 22 cartridge. Horse shoe looks really old.

For sure! Us desert folk know ice keeps much longer if you cover and wrap your ice chest with sleeping bags and jackets, especially when just driving and not opening it.

Also, cover and wrap your refrigerator with sleeping bags and tie them on when the power goes out - it keeps cold much longer!

No, he isn’t pulling your leg.
Sleeping bags and jackets retain the temperature being emitted by what’s INSIDE them. And Block what’s OUTSIDE.

Basically, they act as an insulator.
    The keep what’s in, in.
    And out, out.

I’ve done this with my lunch cooler many times. Never a refrigerator though. Lol

Y'all are going to get sick of me. I spent about 35 minutes in the back part of my yard after work learning/playing with my new detector.

    Finds:
    1 house key
    2 Budweiser's
    1 7-UP
    1 Schmitt's

Sounds like a party, but I wasn't even invited. I'm getting much more confident with the settings and using the detector's pinpoint function. I can't wait to try it somewhere besides my yard.

As the weather gets nicer I might start detecting during my lunch break. I just need to rig up a harmonica holder to hold a PB&J sandwitch so I can multitask.

its true! Wrap a refrigerator in sleeping bags when the power is off. You will be shocked how cold the outside of the refrigerator feels underneath the sleeping bags after a while. Our freezer full of fish and meat stayed rock solid and below freezing for almost two days doing that. It’s a good thing to remember whenever the power company turns off your power.

I've been digging in my front yard and side yard. So much randomness. Including a piece of pipe that had a piece of rubber water hose attached with a wire tie (see the red circle). No idea why that was so far away from the house. I've also found a 22 shell casing.
I'm gonna play around in my back yard next. But it's nothing but dirt, rocks and roots so that should be fun.

For the Lesche (or any) digging tool, is right or left serrated just personal preference or a right/left handed thing?
