Btw, regarding Indian Heads, I believe some are considered rare and/or more "valuable", compared to other years, but I don't know enough about Indian Heads. I actually have one or two of them myself, but I can't remember the years?

I even have German coins from WWII era. They were my mom's coins??? I asked her one time if she was part of the Axis Tripartite Pact signing and got paid for her duties to the "Fuhrer"??? :help::eek::goingcrazy: I also asked her if she was a double-agent back in the day? :spy:

She may have a past you will never hear about, but it might not be her fault.

My Italian grandfather couldn’t come to the US to visit because when he was getting a visa, they denied it as the found out he was registered as a Fascist during the war. My parents had us write appeal letters to the Conciliate to exempt him due to the fact that people had to sign up or get hung as a traitor back then. He actually helped out the US Army when the Germans were leaving as he was a taxi driver and helped them navigate through the city streets. He couldn’t get enough gasoline due to rationing so he ran his taxi off wood gas from a wood burning stove in his trunk! Boy, those were the days!

Yeah, I will never know. I do know this much, you see, my mom is full Japanese and I once asked her, actually a few times and sometimes the conversation would last for quite some time... anyways, I had asked her were the Japanese in favor of the war and she said, "no".

Her dad, my grandpa, was a Japanese Imperial Naval Officer that died in battle on a ship and she told me he wasn't in favor of the war.

My point being, I will never know how in depth all that went down?

I will take a picture of those coins, but they're currently somewhere in my storage unit. Pretty cool to have things like that for how old they are.

So I started sweeping at around 7am until around 11am.

I'm surprised there aren't more foot injuries given the amount of tent stakes I found. Mind you, this was just a "single sweep", meaning I didn't turn around and overlap sweeps (i.e. just walked one direction along the towel line from "point A to point B"). I normally will sweep for about 0.5 mi and then turn around and overlap my sweeps coming back.
    IMG_20220703_071727211.jpg

Anyways, walked about 1.5mi on a single line and these are the results.

My first time finding a clad dollar on the beach.:fistbump::cheers:
    IMG_20220703_080443514.jpg

The religious pendent was ringing up in the gold range, but there are no markings of a "k", so it's "fake" and likely some kind of thin plating, but a cool find still. I like finding religious pendents. The pendent I found coming back to the boardwalk. A rule of thumb, finish your md'ing even as you are heading back in from the towel line!!!
    IMG_20220703_210548950.jpg

The cargo ships are very few compared to a few months back. I like watching the huge ships. :playball:

I took a picture of the "beach rats" as they were just totally hang'n out...:laugh::rofl::facepalm:

Plan on going back in the morning to a certain spot because the crowd was F'N THICK!!! Number one rule in md'ing, follow the crowd!!!

Went to a local beach this morning.
    Trashy as anything.
Nipper bottles, pull tabs, wine bottle caps.

Little bit of change...and a copper dog tag about 6 inches down.

This was the morning of the 4th. About 8am to 11:30am.

Used my Garrett ACE350. I typically use the ACE250, but grabbed the 350 instead to use.

Using a Detech 13" DD Ultimate coil.

The large flat metal piece rang up as a quarter, but it did "jump a bit" on signal return, so it was fishy and I was right.

Anyways, the 2x rings were cool to find. The small one was coming in at the gold range very solidly. I go to look at it though and it is obvious plated as it is crusty in the one area.

The bigger ring came in as a very solid "silver range". But further inspection there are no markings to indicate a sterling and/or "925".
    IMG_20220706_115553411.jpg

You can see the crust marks on the "gold ring".
    IMG_20220706_115854090.jpg

Even though I failed on the gold and silver, they were pretty cool to find either way... for me at least.

I do like the Dos Equis pop top. I LOVE beer logos. I don't drink, but beer companies have some of the coolest looking logos.

Unfortunately I couldn't go back after work yesterday. Things came up and I won't be sweeping for the next few weeks. Definitely had a fun time and will be sweeping again once I get out of the rutt I'm in.

Only my second time out this year with an Ace Apex.
Still getting used to it, but the machine seems to work in the high salt areas better than my 400.
    Much lighter as well.

Very nice find with the knife.

    "Coffee money..." :laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Unfortunately for me, I consider it laundry money regarding the quarter finds.

Me at the laundromat, "gee, I REALLY NEED to use this very rare "silver" to clean my dirty underwear?" :spy:

Found a great way to tape the edges of your coil covers and to better protect underneath your coils using 10mil pipe tape- it doesn’t get sticky like duct tape and electrical tape do in the sun…3B80940B-E09E-44E2-BEC3-854D1F0C91DC.jpg

I won! Doc’s Detecting had a guess what it is contest and I won one of his “Gold Pit” scoops. Haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like it will work to more easily separate the heavies from the waste dirt. Maybe even use for mini dry panning for quick sampling too.1B3BBF3E-F1AC-4554-B0BC-B16D0D54A478.jpg0DE3FD50-F8D1-43C5-99EC-7F650BB3E2C8.jpg

Manzanar volunteer weekend was great. Built a recreation of the rustic decorative fencing the camp’s internees built around the orphanage. Too bad none of you guys showed up though. I called @Hobbs but he was going out of town too, I will have to meet up with him sometime another day.D6E5D781-F894-4949-B727-75446AEA7175.jpg

The first night I was there I stayed at Alabama Hills, dang there were so many people but then again it was Labor Day weekend.FE576B17-EF6F-461B-8417-F2FBD9520148.jpg

On the second and third nights s I found an awesome campsite on BLM land next to a creek and I had the entire place all to myself- It was really great.E5E866AD-B03D-4399-89A2-C607A6246254.jpg84F6FCEA-C68C-4463-8C76-82E9A4CBA8A6.jpg

I didn’t detect any that weekend though as I spent most the time on the historic site which would’ve been a big no-no felony type of thing if I had.

Then when I came home there was this mess behind our house so it’s been no detecting for a while. Everything worked out OK though, Fire got rained out by a hurricane and cool weather is here again!69DCCE56-4128-4E5B-983F-1D63E5F0961B.jpg
