Is anyone here familiar with the Coronado Bay Bridge in San Diego?

If so, what is traffic like going over the bridge at around 8am during the weekdays? More in particular, on Friday mornings at around 8am?

I'm going to Coronado Island tomorrow morning.

Damn that thing looks badass!!! I'd display it. Have you done a bit of history research on it?

    Very much AGREE.

Not alot of info at all on this hotel, the one and only article I was able to come up with actually mentions a theft where they threw away they room key. Was not able to find any other sort of information on the yosemite

Since the key says Yosemite Room, maybe it's a single room or "villa" at a hotel with a completely different name?

I know this story, supposedly they buried the gold they all got from a robbery and buried it somewhere where the key was lost.

JK- it is a nice find though. Makes one wonder how the heck it was lost?

Hah, That same story has been going around everywhere and is attached to everyone who robbed someone and got caught or was shot by the law back then!

:quickdraw:Money? we ain’t seen any money or gold around here. They must’ve buried it some place!:notsure:

Hope everyone is having a good New Year’s also! We were in Portland over the holidays, wanted to try some beach detecting but that didn’t work out as we came home with Covid from a nephew- but got through it with the help of some new antivirals- stuff worked really well. Now it’s raining too much to do anything with the detectors- at least in the desert for fear of flooding and wash outs… but I hear people have been doing well at the beach - storm waves exposing older stuff like silver quarters and gold jewelry. Anyone get out to the beach?

Oh yeah- then this guy… 2.7 lb nugget recently found in Colorado near Durango says the finder… :eek:4045B196-6054-4F35-92CE-B45FB4998AC8.jpg

You guys alive out there? We went out to the pebble plains near the Colorado River off the 10 - Mesa Verde - and found some really nice river-tumbled rocks, many with old marine fossils and petrified wood. There is a lot of white tumbled quartz too so I keep my eye out for any shiny veins in them as well.
It's next to the 10 freeway on pavement just west of Blythe and makes a great rest stop if you are driving through... I posted a map in an earlier post on this thread, else PM me if interested.

Question: Is it normal for a detector to not respond correctly when wet? My Garret is a POS whenever on wet grass.

I wish it would ping on something else besides the 50 cal bullets all over the place out there... a guy I know said his dad found a gold laced pebble out there. The river took out a lot of rock formations and tumbled them into a lot of different type of pebbles, its a really cool place if you like rocks. Going there and also to the nearby Hauser geode beds out at Willey Wells makes for a great weekend.
