And not the 19" coil. Only the stock 14" for me. The 19 got disproved time and time again on the ground I hunt.

Yeah but it depends on the ground and soil type. For high minerals in the soil is a pulse induction or the gpz. For really soft soils there's a few for sand and one great one for decomposing granite and those are VLF boxes.

Pretty much what I was trying to explain to someone else earlier about PI's and VLF machines.

The GP's are like a few thousand, aren't they?

The only PI I have at the moment is the Garrett Infinium LS and have been trying to get into a little bit of surf hunting. Nothing too deep though as I'm not the strongest swimmer if something was to happen... I know my limits. Unfortunately, the "gold" is roughly where chest high deep would be, typically. Then again, one could always wait for the tide changes as well to compensate.

    Anyways...

    EDIT:
Btw, AWESOME finds for sure!!!:bowdown:

@Pablo8 It may sound like I'm an "all Garrett" pusher, but that isn't the case brotha!!! I'm just used to them.

Anyways, about the pointers, I've had my PP (Pro Pointer) for YEARS now and it's gotten its fare share of heavy use and is still going strong. I'll take a picture of it when I can. Get the PP if you can afford it? I also have a "Whites BullsEye II" and it works, but save the extra money and go for the "Garrett Carrot" or the if you have MORE money, the Whites pin pointers, for example, their Pro Find pinpointer.

I can only speak of the Garrett PP, the BullsEye II, Bounty Hunter, and a couple others with the Garrett, by far, being the best out of all the pinpointers "I" have.

Anyways, hope this helps a little bit...??? :notsure:

I had the profind and you can use a 9volt witch makes it more sensitive. Can also play with the winding and the ferrite in the tip to really crank it up.

I know of a mod that you can do for the PP as well. I've just never tried it out. I just know that others have done it and some like it and some don't care for it.

But yeah, forgot to mention about being able to make a pinpointer more "sensitive".

Good point on that... no pun intended, HAHAHAHAHA

Btw, I posted this in another thread, SoCal... short of it, my off-road buddy and good friend of mine... his brother, in the picture, lost his keys at the beach just north of the Huntington Beach Pier. I get a call at about 11pm the night before explaining to me what had gone terribly wrong with his brother's truck keys. I meet up with them the very next day at around 8am. They tell me it is roughly in this area and they made a sweeping motion with both hands covering almost HALF a football field???!!! I'm like, "REEEEEEALLLY GUYS... 'roughly in this area...'...???"

SO, I look at the beach, the "cuts" in the sand from the HIGH/LOW tides, etc etc etc and didn't have very much chance in thinking I was going to find them as the tide likely TOOK the keys??? BUT, onward I went!!!

I grid off about 30 maybe 40-50yds and just start sweeping doing an over-pattern on the return sweep.

After roughly 45min into the search, I could tell they were getting tired already and had already given up all hope. I'm thinking to myself, I'm going to finish my grid and call it... I tell them to at least let me finish my grid. They don't even look up to acknowledge me and I totally get it.

Finally, not even 2min after I had just said that, I get a coin/iron/bouncing signal sound??? More of a coin (i.e. silver) sound though. I had asked them to describe to me what they looked like... and as the details entered my ear canals... the smile on my face ripped from one side to the other across my face and I'm like, "so they look like these...???"

And, there you have it folks!!! I FOUND the keys!!!
    BryansBrothersKeys.jpg

That's my Garrett ACE250 with my Detech Ultimate 13" DD butterfly coil.

Needless to say, the dude was very happy indeed!!!:D:p

    EDIT:
HAHAHAHAHAHA, apparently I posted this already in THIS thread as well??? Didn't remember that, but that is, more or less, how it all went down.
