    Very shallow. Less than 2". I almost missed it baccause there was a small nail right next to it. Great audio signal, but iffy numerical read out.

    That Sanborn map link I posted above has links to others from all over the states, worth looking at to see where the old buildings used to be by type... may help your searches.

    I have a feeling that there hasn't been too many detectors used in this area. Alot of detectorists would be quickly put off by the amount of iron trash in the ground. In fact, I have to be in the right frame of mind to deal with it.
