Hey you got any tips for finding the "coin" or whatever? Such as when you dig it out...or just basically have to sift through the dirt? I didnt know if there was a screen or homemade job like a sluece box you could use

Here's a few things I have found over the last few years

    Cool old spur20200123_085552.jpg

Random buckles and suspender clips etc
    20200123_085403.jpg

Most of the old coins / tokens I have found over the years20200123_085206.jpg

Gold victorian babies ring, shown next to adult ring for size reference.

Also shown in pic is a mining camp gambling game piece called "put and take" Spin top and land on T3 take 3 dollars, nickels, dimes are whatever you are playing with. Land on P3 and put 3 back in.
    20200123_085122.jpg

And probably my favorite find an Indian Wars era Calvary officer sword belt plate.

I would watch some YouTube as I think I would have a difficult time messaging the ins and outs.
There are a ton of vid's about the subject. I have watched a bunch of vid's from "Cut A Plug."

Yeah I have found a couple of those, cheap mens engagement rings, that one says cobalt I believe the other one I have says tungsten

Yeah I have been lucky to have made some pretty good finds. Haven't been out lately but a couple years ago a friend and I would try to go out once a week for about 8 hours.

I LOVE your coin finds! There is some really cool stuff right there! I also like the gambling spinner and the rings! Very cool!
And I dig the spur! That's a great find! What do you know about it?
I ask because one of my detecting partners found a similar one (broken, but the star wheel looks very similar) the other day when we were out. He seemed to think that it is of Spanish decent. I think a little research led him to think so.

    Thanks for sharing!

Cool! You are getting the swing of things! Good for you!

I found a Navy button (in a button book) that is really close to what you found, but is slightly different, in that yours has an oval around the anchor. Center:

    I appreciate it!

The spur I actually found while hiking in to an old spot I was trying to find, not really near anything else, and was sticking out of the ground. They are rare to find metal detecting (the iron ones at least) as they dont ring up very good, Do you have a picture of your friends? Id love to see it. Thats interesting you say spanish, when I found it a couple years ago thats what some people suggested to me as well. I don't know anything about them so can't say one way or the other.
