Well, apparently someone shot the cliff I took samples from with tiny birdshot... lots of it. Oh well, my detecting is getting better, and my wife thinks I’m crazier than ever getting all excited about finding tiny lead pellets...”but honey, this means it can pick up even the smallest of gold nuggets!” :bananadance:

Goldmonster 1000- it’s sensitive, but not as deep as your Nox. You got the right machine for the type of detecting you do.

Yep! If you're detecting #8 shot, you will certainly see small gold!

Is #8 about 2-2.5mm in diameter? That’s about what I found imbedded into the soil.

I read that it makes a good practice target for gold, and to bury some small bits at different depths in the yard for practice.

Have you hit an aluminum can?? I don't know the number, but I'm sure you won't miss that signal!

2 to 2.5 mm sounds like maybe #6 or #4 bird shot.

Yeah its a 15-22, same as a nice penny. :anonymous:. Im serious you dig down about 5-6 in and theres a layer of junk, like they just covered everything up. I most likely am missing stuff, because i dont dig up everything ....like i should but some is too deep and ends up being a tin can or beer can. This is all in town stuff.

You might benefit from searching an area with less junk. Too many signals all at once can be confusing and frustrating.
