That was the first thing I tried with no success. I'm baffled. Crutchfield is sending me a Schosche kit now to try that.

They send me Scosche kit for a double din unit and some universal din pocket and none of this seems to work together. Not sure why they didn't just send me another Metra kit since it's obvious looking at other Metra kits that mine was a defect. I'm losing patience.

So I called Crutchfield. The first call I was told they I should not have any problems. And then I was told that kit should fit just right. Pissed off so I hung up. 2nd call the rep told me they are having a lot of calls on this and if I want the other kit they would sale it to me minus what it would have cost me to by the pos kit. Sounds like a bait and switch

If you have a single din unit and they end up sending you a Scosche make sure it's the actual single din one and not the double din one cause it won't work. I might end up just having to cut out the middle man and complain directly to Metra since Crutchfield doesn't seem to be getting the point across that I'm making that some of the kits were made wrong, and it's obvious.

Also holding things up is the fact that these companies don't have up to date info on their products and the companies selling them aren't completely knowledgeable about the vehicles. I know they send me the double din Scosche with some universal crap to try and get it to work because Scosche only lists that one for the 2009 model, yet they have the single din kit for the 2005-2008 trucks, even though it's all the same. So they're looking and saying theres nothing available even when you try and explain the truck has been the same 2005-2011 so all these dash kits should apply to all the trucks. When I first called in the guy at Crutchfield was like this is strange we list nothing for your access cab truck they're only listing regular cab and double cab. That could be why it's not working they don't make one for your truck. I mean really, they're going to try and tell me that the access cab uses a different kit not made than is used by double cabs and regular cabs lol.

So what's the plan now? I got my kit from fry's electronics.

Waiting to hear back from Crutchfield, again. I sent the guy I've been working with some more pics this time comparing the the stock radio, to Scosche kit, to Metra kit. Also included the first pic you had with your Metra kit pulled out showing how long the prongs are where the white clips are to show how the Metra kit is supposed to be. Maybe finally they will get the point that it's not a matter of it doesn't fit the truck and realize there were just a few that were made improperly. When I first called I figured that had to be it and asked about whether it could be just a defect from the factory with that and they kinda just dismissed that idea.

This has been made a lot more difficult than it has to have been. I mean they were tying to see if kits from other trucks would fit, etc. If it was me I would just start opening kits up at the warehouse haha. Get one with the normal length prongs, awesome, send it to me. If not, you're not losing anything cause you couldn't have sold that kit anyways since you're just going to get another person calling complaining. I just want a damn replacement Metra kit! lol. If need be I'll just complain to Metra myself.

Can everyone who has this kit that fits fine confirm that the prong things that stick out at the top where the white clips go onto are as long as they are in Tidrows pic and NOT short like the pic I had posted? Crutchfield still is baffled and doesn't understand why this doesn't fit even though I've shown them countless pics showing them how much shorter they are and showing Tidrows pic of a Metra kit they claim the sample one they have there the things are just as long as the one I got. They want to focus me on why the double din Scosche they sent doesn't fit. I've had good experiences with Crutchfield in the past but this is just irritating now.

EDIT: Got tired of the run around so I just bought another Metra kit off of Amazon. Things that stick out where the clips go on are the proper long length and it fits properly.
