Its time to replace my OEM BFG Rugged Trails. They currently have 48,000 and will need to get replaced by 50k. Ive read a lot of negative reviews on the Rugged Trails but I have no complaints. Not sure if I got lucky with a good set or if they are just good for my uses but don't really want to take the chance on getting a bad set. I drive about 25k mi/ year 90-95% highway and the only off roading I do is fire roads in the mountains to get to hiking trails a couple weeks a year or dirt roads/fields to get to fishing spots. I don't rock crawl, mud bog or get in sand or anything extreme at all.. But I do love the look of aggressive A/T tires.

I want to stick with the oem size of 265/70/16 in either a P metric or SL load. I think I have narrowed it down to either Michelin LTX AT2, Goodyear Wrangler Adventure w/Kevlar, or Toyo Open Country AT2. Does anyone have personal experience with these?

Both the Goodyear and Michelin weigh about the same. IMO the Goodyear wins in the tread looks, but the Michelin wins in the tread life. I honestly don't know a whole lot about the Toyos but I can get them cheaper than the other 2 and that the P metric version looks less appealing than the other 2.

I'm not interested in duratracs or KO2s, I think they are awesome looking/performing tires but I don't want/need a heavy E or C load tire and I think they might look weird in 265/70/16.

Any help or pics would be appreciated regarding these tires.

    Thanks

Just ordered the Toyo's today. I am having vibe issues with the Cooper ATP's and so Discount tire is swapping me the Toyos. They are suppose to be super smooth on the road and decent in snow, rock, light mud. The Toyos have a 60,000 mile tread life warranty.

Let me know what you think about them when you get them. I'm interested in weight/MPG decrease, dry/wet weather traction, road noise/comfort, and light mud/ light offroading capabilities.

    Thanks

Highly recommend Toyo OC AT2. I went with Load Range C in 265/75/16 - which actually corrects the speedo. I noticed no impact to mpg jumping up from P rated General Grabber AT2 in 265/70/16.

Got my Toyos mounted up today, love them. The handling feels much better than the ATP's did and they just plain look better.

They are not noisey at all, they handle way better, I'm way happier with these than the Coopers. Still have a slight shimmy in the wheel but wI'll see about road force balancing them in the future.

I got the Michelins put on today. It rained off and on all day but stopped before they finished mounting them... so I have driven on wet and dry roads but not in the rain yet. I'm very happy with my decision so far (only 18 miles). They are quiet and ride smooth with great grip.

Good looking tires! It rained here this morning pretty heavy and I just cruised about 65-70 and never once felt like the Toyo's wanted to hydroplain.

How do you like the Michelin LTX AT2? I'm thinking of getting them. Do you any negative thoughts about them? How are they in the rain or snow? Would you recommend them? I have two other tires I'm looking at also, the Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT and Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015.
    Thank you
