5 night backpacking trip to the bottom of the grand canyon. Havasupai! Loved every minute of my time in the canyon.

An amazing place, it really is a tropical rain forest in the middle of the desert.

5 people and our packs loaded up in the back of my 1999 BMW540i. One of the most comfortable cars ever. It has 289 hp and 320 ft. lbs of torque. 4.4L V8. I set the cruise at 90 and we get 23mpg. PERFECT road trip car!

GO DOWN THERE! Words cant explain the beauty of that place.

Let me tell you first hand, It does not pay to get cheap quality parts and ignore torque specs.

Example A: Ebay UCA and toyota OEM LBJ not torqued to the proper spec.

I was doing 25mph on a gravel road near flaming gorge and the wheel decided to not want to be on the vehicle anymore. Luckily nobody and no objects were hurt with the 90+ lb. 33" load range E tire and hub assembly bouncing across the sagebrush.

    Dented fender

LBJ bolts snapped off in spindle

    Bad(?) LBJ

    Broken passenger uniball.

Could have ended a lot worse than it did, especially since i was going 90mph on I-80 the day before...

The risk of human life is not worth the reward for saving a couple hundred bucks. If anything would have happend to my girlfriend that was riding passenger seat at the time, I would have never forgiven myself....

One thing I absolutley love about living in Utah is the close proximity to mountains and adventure! 30-40 min. from my home is American Fork Canyon in the Wasatch National Forest!

Myself and a group of guys try to make it up there once a week to wheel and or camp, we just leave early in the morning to make it to work by 8!

My 4runner was still sitting on the trailer in my driveway, so I rode passenger in my buddies!

Oh yeah, we love hammocks and not the ones for bananas ;)

I really cant say for sure. All I know is my tire was flying past me still doing 25 mph + while my girlfriend and I just stared at each other in shock!

If I had to guess, I would say the LBJ bolts went first causing the spindle to catch and spin around then causing the uniball to break.
