Thanks. I definitely think HC bumpers still have their place, it just doesn’t make a ton of sense for how I use my truck. I’m really trying to keep everything light and as always form follows function.

I don’t have any exact numbers but the top of the hitch on my bumper sits approximately 1/2” above the bottom of the frame rails

    Thanks guys.

Haven’t had much time to post. Here’s a few things we’ve been working on.

@ceedless third gen was back in to get the rear suspension upgraded to perform closer to the total chaos +2 race kit we previously installed. We installed a set of deaver u402 stage 1 leaf springs, king 2.5x12 shocks, and archive garage relocation kit, as well as a few various bits and pieces from wheelers off-road. All parts were purchased thru me.

    70432F48-817C-4798-B8C2-0168A905F546.jpg

Also installed a set of archive hammer hangers and built a low pro crossmember to tie them together.

    B6C915D6-F4DE-41BA-8B91-481858E23B08.jpg

Another thing to note is total chaos will be raising the price on all parts next month, so if you’re planning on ordering a kit or parts I’d recommend doing it now. Long travel kits will be increasing approximately 10% that’s a good chunk of change. So hit me up if you want pre increase Tacomaworld member pricing on tc stuff.

Thanks. I’m still mig welding most of the sets, but do tig weld the mitre joint on all the sets now. I would tig weld everything but it eats up a lot of time and most don’t ant to eat the extra labor costs, which really aren’t necessary.

Thanks, at least you already got all your chaos purchases out of the way

I like to incorporate the crossmember, it’s definitely not as strong as it could be, tying into it helps stiffen it up. Pm replied

Need to incorporate a support bar into my hanger setup. I have some ideas in the works but I'm cutting out the factory cross member and boxing the frame this weekend. We shall see how everything unfolds and what direction I go.

I still have a few gussets I need to add to mine, but it just a temp setup. Hopefully I’ll have time to install my perm rear suspension in the next 6 months or so. I probably would of gone a little heavier on the crossmember if it was for a customer, but when it comes to my own build I’d rather not over build everything so I can keep the weight being added on to a minimum, that also requires a lot more light weight gusseting to keep the strength where it needs to be. That’s where most of the tig welding has been coming into play. Really can’t build quality parts using lightweight materials without it.

This was my first experiment in trying to replace parts normally made out of plate with thinner sheet metal while adding extra gussets to make up for the thinner material.
