He's right. Before we begin explaining to you differences you might want to tell us your intentions with the truck.

Without a budget or anything like that how can we determine what you want?

I would like to keep it on the less expensive side for parts and labor. I take it off roading when I can and my normal commute is pretty rough from the roads. Plus it be nice to romp through cracks, curbs, speed humps, and when off roading be able to tear

If you have a budget of $1200 then you should go for mid travel!

It's a little difficult to decipher what you are trying to say. It sounds like mid travel would be plenty for you though. If you want to be able to offroad and "romp" through the terrain though you will need a good mid travel setup and it is not cheap either. Over 1200 for sure. I am in somewhere in the $4000 range after my build was all said and done but I did a lot of custom one off work which allowed me to score stuff for cheaper because it wasn't intended for OE. I sure can run it really hard out there without issue however. It all depends on your budget but you would be just fine with MT. Coilovers/UCA's/bump stops for the front. Leaf pack/smooth body shocks and bump stops for the rear. Maybe brake lines if you gain too much travel in the back.

Expect a high cost to get a good setup then and make sure you try to get it done all at once.

You are not going to be able to do midtravel set up with parts and install for 1200 bucks. I'm sitting at about 2200 for parts and I installed every component myself.

If you need help selecting things let me know. I have done some experimenting and spent a lot of time doing so, so I know what is required to make it all work correctly.

I was going to have 4 wheel parts do the install and get the stuff from them what would you recommend?

I would not recommend 4 wheel parts to do installs. They specialize in bro lifts. Not in functional offroad style lifts. Where do you live at? State and city?

All good companies to deal with. Offroad Warehouse is not good with technical knowledge though so if he has any questions he may be better off with getting stuff through Downsouth since he has questions. Lifting a vehicle involves knowing correct heights, measurements, and it's not as simple as slapping on a set of shocks and calling it good if you want the lift to perform as well. Now if you are a ground pounder predominantly then it really doesn't matter as much. Since he wants to wheel though he has to make sure everything is correct or risk premature breakage of parts.

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
Hate to be harsh but if you want to go LT better add a zero behind that amount. MT will do much better than stock and would probably suit your needs

MT sounds right for me and Glendale, AZ. right now I have pro comp 6000 in my front and 3000 in my rear. I also have a three inch level lift on my front end and a two and a half inch on my rear. 4 wheel parts did my shocks and before them I use to goto AZ truck pros.
