So as it is playing out so far I may have gotten screwed out of $1000. I saw this thread (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/bu...uper-charger-gen1-new-7-injector-kit-urd.html) Tuesday night and PM'd and texted the guy. He responded right away and was super helpful regarding the supercharger and 7th injector he had for sale. I told him I was interested in both, but he wanted to make the deal in person because he didn't like PayPal. I should have known then, but he sent me a picture and it was the same info and a similar picture of a craigslist ad I had seen, so he actually had the items. I told him I could transfer the money through the bank (I'm a trusting person and shouldn't have been), that way he could have payment and we could make a deal. He agreed and we proceeded to transfer info.

I know that was a big no no, but I talked to him on the phone and he seemed trusting and a genuine guy (didn't get any weird vibes). We set up the payment and I transferred the money. He had been very prompt with responses this whole time and patient/understanding when I needed more time to get to computer. The next day he was very responsive again and told me he could ship it that day once the payment cleared. After it cleared he said he was heading the post office and that is when things started to get a bit off. He said he was on his way there but didn't text back for a couple hours. When I asked if it was sent he said he had to get his glasses, but was in line. I waited a couple more hours and he said it was shipped, but he lost the receipt and it would get there in 7-10 days (SoCal to NorCal).

Since then I haven't heard anything even after phone calls and texts. I can't tell if his phone is off or on since it rings once or none at all then right to the voicemail. So I’m asking TW to possibly help me out. I will give him till tomorrow before I start to really try and take action. I know his number, name, bank account number and can see his Facebook page. I was hoping a TW member could call him and see if he will answer since he is trying to sell his Tacoma and still has the ad up. It would be a good excuse for you to be contacting him. If so, then I will proceed from there.

I know I screwed up and shouldn’t have done that so please don’t lecture me about it. I’m already sick to my stomach just thinking about not getting my money back, so no need to rub it in please. Helpful comments would be great.

    Updates as of 10/4:
Seller has not contacted me as of 7 am 10/4. My last contact was 6 PM 10/1.
Other members have contacted the seller and he told them it was shipped and no further communication.
Seller has logged into TW and changed his location, gender and truck details.
I've sent messages to him through voicemail, text and Facebook, but nothing has been returned.
    Update 10/8:
I contacted my bank and they are performing an investigation into the matter. I should hear back soon.
No contact has been made from the seller and repeats the items were shipped, yet they haven't arrived yet.

I will keep this updated as I find out more.

I do but I wanted the 7th and figured for $450 more I could get a sc with it. I was planning on just selling the sc to recoup some of what I spent on the 7th.

And that's the weird thing, for $450 more. Who puts up a price of $700 and blatantly states it's ($4k new) and continues and puts down 7th kit for $550 never used then also states it's ($895 new) isn't it still new?

Idk, not trying to dog on you man but this guy isn't very bright. Probably didn't make it past high school economics.

I hope that's the case. He didn't seem sketchy at all till I asked for a pic of the receipt. Then all communication went dark.

That's what originally made me think this deal was fine and legit. He emphasized he wanted to meet in person and would meet up with someone if I had a friend near by. Plus his ad on craigslist and his Tacoma ad were legit. Nothing pointed to being amiss at that point.

Some people are like that. The SC needs some parts still so it wasn't complete and I think he just wanted it gone. I deserve to be called an idiot, I know that.

It just got locked tonight and he hasn't logged onto TW since we made the deal.

I'm looking into and will be making some calls now. He could just be flaky and have sent it, but I'm not sure and will give him till tomorrow night to get a hold of me.

Nah it got locked yesterday, I saw that.
I wouldn't say you're an idiot, maybe just an impulsive, lack of judgment decision. I think there should be a post prerequisite or a specific time period from join date till you can start selling things.

His problem was not following the guidelines of the BST.
Your problem was not noticing that and jumping the gun.

His phone number is there, we should all just give him a friendly call until he gives you the SC, or your money back.

If it hasn't been the length of shipping days, I'd wait before I harassed him. Sounds like he was in a pinch (low price), so maybe he's tied up with life, and doesn't have time at the moment.
    When did it supposedly ship?

Good luck OP. I hate hearing about stuff like this on here because so far all my interactions with other members have been positive and the help and advice from this community is amazing.

Hopefully you will either get what you bought or your money back.
This just reinforces me not to buy things from people who only have 1 post.

I would at least wait until the shipping time frame has passed to see if it really comes.

I have been a member of other forums and the buy/sell area stays locked to you until you have a certain post count or time as a member. You can read threads and pm sellers if you want to buy something but you cant post a sale thread.
