Well guys, the economy has caught up with my dad's company. He's had to lay a bunch of people off and he's really stressed right now. :( We've had to cut down on expenses lately and I'm considering selling my truck, buying something cheaper, and putting the difference towards the benefit of my family.

So this is where I need some help. I figure my truck (2010 TRD sport 15k miles) is worth around $25k. Any ideas on what I should get? I'm leaning towards something with decent gas mileage, car or hatchback, and with enough HP to keep me awake.

Thanks fellas, I really appreciate the help

If you need a truck just get a 4 banger 2wd Toyota. Doesnt matter what year, I'm sure it will last forever.

His budget would be anything less than 25k which is the value of his truck...

If it were me and I had to get rid of my truck, I would get a 4cyl regular cab truck with 4x4 and instead of focusing on power learn to offroad better. I have always played with this idea.

yeah but i don't offroad. i really only use my truck for mountain biking and the occasional dirtbike trip. i could easily get a roof rack for bikes, and borrow my dad's truck for dirtbiking

Yeah, learning a manual really isn't that bad. It may take you a week or so to actually drive, and about a month to really get the hang of it. In a car with some decent power though, you want a manual for sure. Just don't try and do anything crazy for a while, that's all.

get any clean well maintained 1st gen extra cab with a 4cyl. Kinda hard to go wrong with that. the 2wd 4cylinders get great mileage.
