The Manual states 21.1 US Gallon
and 17.6 Imperial Gallons in England.

How many US Gallons remain in the tank when the light comes on?

I get 18 mpg if I keep my foot out of it and when i'm in 2wd mode.

You should do your math again. I'm lucky to get 300 miles a fill up and I'm lifted... I still get 16.6 mpg average.

edit: Damn you're in Cape Cod? I'm sure you've seen me around then!?? Where do you live?

You may be right. I didn't realize 4 gallons remained when the light came on. The light hadn't come on yet when I hit 297 miles so i have to assume at least 4 were left. 21-4 = 17. 300/17 gives 17.5 mpg roughly. Seems to be making more sense, I should just buy a effin flow meter.

I've got about 2700 miles on my 10 4-banger and the mileage is just now starting to increase. First couple of fill-ups (17-18 gals), was getting about 19 combined....but last fill-up I got 21 combined....and currently, the guage indicates 1/2 tank and I have 210 miles on it....I think the engine (and truck) are finally getting broken in.

Don't worry about the size of the tank...Take the miles you have driven since last fill up divided by how much gas it takes to fill it up again =mpg

A lot of the variation is how you drive, but also where (obviously), which engine (3.4, 2.7, 4.0), tranny type, and whether you have 4x4 or a prerunner. The front diff in shift-on-the-fly 4x4 is always cranking, so it hurts the mileage a lot compared to a prerunner. I don't know about these trucks, but with others you can switch out the front hubs to be manual locking, allowing the front diff not to turn when not in 4x4.

    You have 4x4 or prerunner?

Define full tank. How many gallons are you putting in when you fill? It's kind of meaningless to talk about how many miles per tank everyone is getting unless we all fill at the same point. Some people fill when the light comes on, but there is still about 4 gallons left at that point.

For a more accurate measure, divide the miles driven since your last fill by the number of gallons pumped to fill the tank. Then use that mpg number and multiply by 21 to come up with how far you can go with a tank running it dry.

    I get 18mpg highway * 21 gallons = 378 miles before I run out.

Im getting 350-375 per tank, however it depends on how long I drive with the low fuel light on. Mine, is a stock 2006 PreRunner as well.

I use 89 Octane, usually Shell or Chevron. I have an auto V6 DC with a hard tonneau cover. Don't think the cover makes a difference, because I was getting the same gas mileage before the cover. I usually split my driving time 1/2 & 1/2 between interstate and back roads. Also, don't know if this makes a difference, but my truck came with the TSS package that includes a Borla air filter, exhaust system, and dual exhaust tips. I do not have the TRD package.

LOL looks like all the people who checked 400+ miles are the 4 banger guys who did not pay attention that this poll was for V6 only.

I do not see how 400+ is even possible in a V6 unless you are in neutral going downhill with the wind to your back.
