So if this is still not an option next weekend are any of you up to make the commute to San Diego to hit up Corral Canyon? In still trying to get m rig back together but all signs point to yes.
If you are not familiar with the area YouTube it, trails like bronco peak, bronco flats, sidewinder, bronco peak connector (not an option in a Tacoma).
Great campgrounds too. Area has everything mild to wild.

I live at the base of azusa canyon and it is not worth driving long distance to unless you have big mud truck.

Fuck that. I hate mud, cleaned enough of that shit off/out of my rigs in my younger days. Only time I get into it now is duck hunting around the Salton sea, that mud might be the worst in the world, I avoid it as much as possible.

These trails are in the same area as MJT. They are challenging, scenic and few people use them. Tecuya is great for 4x4's, with secluded campsites deep in the forest. You can spend 3-4 hours at Tecuya then go to Apache Saddle / Quatal or Scott Russell. Pine Mountain Club is having their Lilac Festival so you can stop and have lunch there. Here are some videos of the area:

I have been to Salt Creek and Cherry Creek a few years ago. They were not very challenging.

But we did do some shooting at the end of the Salt Creek trail.
