    My guess is he went out there to camp off the grid or deal with depression as a man.

    Yea. Family says he’s suicidal and was on a 5150 hold recently for suicidal tendencies.

    At this point I think the family may just be hoping for a recovery and some closure.

    I know about 5150 and can say usually it's a bluff (only because I know some who are covered for this) but with age brings a more than definite probability of follow through. I hope he is doing his thing but chances are he followed through with his mindset of calling it quits in the dirt.
