Someone decided they needed the tailgate from my 09 more than I did. I've been working with local dealer in S.C. for over a week trying to order a replacement. Purchased aftermarket lock to hopefully prevent furture thefts! If you don't have a lock, I suggest a minor investment to protect a $2700.00 tailgate. Stay safe..

Sorry to hear about your loss man, that sucks. I slapped a hose clamp on mine within 3 days of getting it thanks to these forums.

I purchased a Bully Lock, same type concept as hose clamp, put it on yesterday after waiting for 12 days for new tailgate. This Forum and info posted is a great help. Thanks again...

    F*** That!

Purchase a net or something similar, if you're not worried about it looking stock.
Have you also tried contacting your insurance company and see if they'll cover some/all the cost?

OP two post total.. Should have joined earlier and did the tailgate mod.

Thing is though, if there interested in a Taco tailgate they probibly already have a screwdriver with them.. I think a better Idea would be a Bandit strap or a very large Orlicker hose clamp. [IMG]Ear Clamps they're called also they do come also in SS. Don't know, never tried also never looked also but if you could get one of these on you need a zip cut to get it off. Use end nippers to crimp them. Both of those you need to actually cut them off to remove them.

I have a internal lock so I really don't need this.
