One of my ICON rear shocks is leaking. Second leak (different shock) in 6 months of city use.

I've got two weeks to get my truck fixed (leaving on a month-long road trip on March 5th), and no one has ICON rebuild kits in stock. Plus, the only shop that's confident they can rebuild even if they get a kit is a 3.5 hour drive away in a direction I don't want to go. Running the shock through warranty in this time frame is not possible. Pain in the ass!

That leaves me with two options:

    1. Buy a new ICON shock to replace the leaking one, then warranty the leaking one after I come back from the trip, and either keep it as a spare, or sell.

    2. Move away from ICON suspension, starting with the rear. Kings are an option. So are FOX and maybe the Bilstein 5160s (with remote resis).

The ICONs in the front must stay for the time being. As with all ICON shocks, these are digressive valving.

Anything non-ICON will be progressive valving. Could this combination cause any problems? I guess I'm worried that as the front of the truck stiffens (at speed), the rear will soften, and perhaps cause problems with overall stability.

    Am I worrying about a non-issue?

I know people having kings up front and icon out back. Then Icon up front with kings out back. They like their setups.

I see you're localish to me. You try contacting BCC out in Abby and see if they have any solution for you? I would just send it off for rebuild and throw something dirt cheap like some Monroe's or something in place to get by till they come back from rebuild.

Oh, really? I thought ICON was the only company to make digressive shocks. Interesting.

I have ran a mix of icons with fox/king. Couldnt even tell, and I am sensitive to handling.

I did a 3000 mile trip to alaska and back with icon fronts and fox rears.
