Would it be possible to build a set of custom spindles that increase your ground clearance but allow you to keep the cvs? Do you have any plans on building a custom rear axle for your truck?

It wouldn't be too bad, just a hassle and would introduce variables before racetime. I'd rather run what I'm familiar with and have the ability to flip into 4wd if I get into a tough spot.

They didn't even have time to get dusty!

Grab a beer. This could take awhile. :p

Even custom spindles can't lift a 4wd because of the front axles. They can be made much stronger than the stock stuff, but won't help clearance. Only bigger tires will do that and I'm not investing in another 8 tires until these are completely shot. WAY too much $$$

Eventually I'll swap to a fabricated Ford 9" housing in the rear, but that's a ways off. The stock housing with the gusset has held up well so far. Again, it's money I'd rather not spend if I can avoid it. This stuff is expensive enough as it is. :)

You don't like the customized one with the top half inclined towards the dash? ;) I enjoyed watching you race (the dot that represented you). Glad you made it home safe. There's always next year.

Oh, I guess he had a lot on his mind that morning. Can you please be in charge of the recording equipment next year?

I see where you're coming from.

You don't run 4wd the whole time? Does it not make much of a difference when at speed? I would imagine it would help with turning at least.
