Wrenching on my truck is usually tear-inducing anyway so he's already most of the way there...

Nothing recently. Just a big pile of parts collecting dust until I have time to wrench again.

I'm troubleshooting a grounding issue in the truck when time allows. The power window on the passenger side doesn't go up or down via the controls, and after digging around I found that the ground wasn't grounded. I spliced in a ground as a fix and it worked for both up and down movement from the passenger switch and only up from the driver's side switch controlling the passenger side window. Weird, right?

I traced the wires from the passenger side door into the cab and they check out, so the break is somewhere in the vehicle itself. Anybody know where that ground would be located?

That would be an unfortunate coincidence but it makes a lot of sense. I'll pull the switch and check for continuity before ripping into anything else. Thanks!!

Despite everything, the electrical connections look clean. I did find a chafed wire in the passenger side door, but that was only a speaker wire going to the tweeter. Everything else looked good.

I feel your pain. I F$%^ing hate wiring issues... My maf connector wiring still jiggles out of place every other week, and I've gotta pull over to wiggle it back to normal. Still waiting for summer heat to re-solder it

Years ago I had an issue on this truck where every time I'd step on the brakes, the tail light fuse would blow. I spent way too many weeks trying to track down the problem and in the end managed to locate the wire with the short and simply cut it. Since it was tied to the brake circuit, I figured it was either for the ABS or the cruise control, neither of which I use, so it's gone.

For that one I went through each connector and looked for ground shorts on 1 side and a corresponding 12v positive on the other side when the brake pedal was pressed.

The joys of troubleshooting with an impending race deadline approaching.
