Rear bumper is on and im ok with how it looks, I thought alot about a low profile rear bumper but I couldnt stand the thought if having nothing to step on when the tailgate was up. I just need to paint it so it looks better and not so farmish. And all of the low hanging stuff from the front of the truck is gone but I dont have any pics of it rightnow, plus I washed the truck for the first time since september probably.

 

I like it, looks almost stock size and not overly busy.

 

It basically is with a little trimming, im going to add a piece of tubing to each side like little rock sliders dor the bottom of the quarter panel.

 

Got some smaller but brighter lights, the last pic is with one of the round lights on and one of the new square pod on.

 

The bumper just got its first true test today, I hit a buck going 65mph and the bumper is fine but it got pushed back and cracked the grille but the lights are good to go im glad I had them tucked in there.

Edit: when I hopped out to see the damage I was like not much damage to be had and buck died instantly so I didnt have to put it out of its misery.

 

Damn that sucks. Did it bend the frame?

 

No, im just gonna pull the front clip forward a little and reposition the bumper and it should be fine.

 

I pulled out the grillle and took a come along to the core support and mostly fixed it, but the hood still sits a little to high so im going to massage the top of the core support and it should be good to go. I guess now is a good time for a mesh grille.

 

That's disappointing. A steel bumper should be able to take an animal strike without bending/moving.
Truck looks great though. 1st gen double cabs are timeless.

 

In its defence it didnt bend. I took off the bumper to what was going on and the crush can on the right side mushroomed so I guess both the bumper and the crush can did they're jobs. However I think the timing is great for the grille to be broken as I was having to replace the radiator and the timing/ water pump.

 

Since I put on the 305/70R16 master crafts the have rubbed when turning while flexing a very slight amount which is annoying. so I fixed the fenders by being very liberal with a air hammer and Clearancing the fender liners(they got pulled out by running chains during the winter). And I also adjusted the shocks up one notch, and now I no longer rub whatsoever and measuring from ground to fender on all 4 corners is 40in so its perfectly level which sucks because I like rake so now I have to do something about the rear. The alignment came out perfect so far im loving the way it is the ride has not changed and its one inch higher in the front.

Ive been keeping an eye on my coollant level as its been going down and ive decided that it was time to replace the leaking water pump and radiator.

First I was camping at honeyman then I ditched that place and went to dune city and had a blast in the sand and driving on the beach. I will be returning next weekend the wife and I had a blast.

So ive been busy today, I greased the upper controls because they were squeaking pretty bad... I may have gone over board with the grease. And I replaced the factory bumper crush cans with some ARB parts.

 

Finally put the lights back into the rear bumper and plan on adding ditch lights to the front and actually putting proper fitting lights into the bumper

 

New lights that fit in the front bumper. And now I'm just waiting on the ditch light brackets.
