Im making a new thread to help keep track of what I did. This 4runner is now a Frankenstein but it works great. I picked this thing up from the original owner who had all sorts of stories of hauling her kids around in it. I cant remember the mileage ill edit it later. She put in a new transmission then it blew a head gasket and she gave up on it, then I came along and towed it 76 miles through mountain passes with my red 4runner. And started tearing them both apart.

    Starting vehicle
    1995 white 4runner 3VE auto A340E

    Engine
    • 5vzfe 3.4L 1996 T100
    Transmission
    • A340F 1996 T100
    Transfercase
    • 1997 T100 transfercase from a manual transmission for a top shift configuration
    Axles and differentials
    • 1990 4runner front diff with LCE cv axles
    • Swapped knuckles/ spindles from 1990 4runner
    • Had to swap rotors back to original because 1995 has thicker rotors and wider brake calipers
    • Swapped entire rear axle from 1990 4runner becase 1995 had 4.30 ratio and red had a 4.10 ratio so I wanted to keep cost down and just used 4.10 ratio front and back.
    Body
    • All pro front bumper
    • Bad lands 12k lb winch
    • 3/8 body lift
    • Mounted oem turn signals on all pro bumper
    Suspension
    • Swapped suspension from 1990 red 4runner
    • Front fox shocks
    • Front ball joint spacers
    • Rear procomp shocks
    • Rear OME coil springs

They are a dime a dozen for cheap. The red one I picked up for 700 bucks and the white I picked up for 900 bucks. The white one was to kinda start over and it was in super good condition. Plus I grew up with 80s and 90s toyotas and have pretty much owned them all but I really find the 2nd gen 4runner so useful and fun.
