WalMart has the 5qt jugs for $24.97-$26.97/ea or $4.99-$5.39/qt. I'm no math major, but that looks VERY comparable in price to me...

I have the same problem, which is why I figured others might also benefit from the Advance Auto sale.

As for the deal being "not that good" or "nothing special," I've yet to see Mobil 1 AVAILABLE for LESS. Lowest observed price + product available = pretty GOOD deal, IMO. If you agree, buy some. If you disagree, don't, but please don't thread-cap because you found a COMPARABLE deal in your area.

Well I feel slightly foolish now for jumping the gun and buying 20 quarts. One plus to the online order is that it was tax free! my 20 quarts @ 4.99 totaled to $99.80 I wasn't aware of the good price at Walmart. If I new it was that cheap, I would have always bought it... I wonder why advanced auto parts sells it for $9.00 a quart?

    Yotaco,
You did well. Just know that you have a good supply for the next four oil changes and don't have to go shopping when it is time for that oil change (plus it is alredy paid for!). Seems like a wise move to me.

$8-$10/qt is the "normal" price in many places (e.g., O'Reilly's, Advance Auto, AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc).

This ^^. $5/qt IS a good price for quality synthetic oil like Mobil 1. (Tuctaco's 6qts for $27 deal is the best I've seen on it, and it's only $0.50 less/qt. Like the Advance Auto deal, it's temporary, made possible through an instant $10 rebate/coupon.)

This ^^. Amsoil and Mobil 1 are two of the best synthetic oils on the market.
