Mobtown! If you still need a 3rd gen TRD OR 4x4 with tech package for prototyping, I'm in Bethesda MD and I would be willing to leave my truck at your shop for a few weeks if you need.

Also, in the future, think you will ever develop a high clearance rear bumper for the 3rd gen, the type that shaves off part of the side fenders like some of the other fab companies make?

I'm almost completely positive that if you disable the BSM, the backup sensors will still work. Back in California, I ripped off my rear right bumper corner so my right side BSM was gone. All I had to do was press the BSM button to disable it, but still had the button pressed for backup sensors and it worked fine even though my BSM was torn off and disabled. They are independently controlled inside the cabin with 2 different buttons, so one can be turned on or off independent of the other.

    Yup.

This is what we are shooting for. Back up sensors still work, BSM will not because you will turn it off from the dash. Having the corner cutout and covered with plastic IMO is completely defeating the purpose of an offroad plate bumper...

I believe u would also lose the cross traffic alert. The sensor for it is part of the BSM, I think. Of the three systems, the cross traffic is my favorite, and the one I would not like to lose. But junk that BSM and give me a plate bumper please.

Correct. What I have learned is the BSM and Cross Traffic are tied into the same sensor. As for the Cross Traffic, I don't see the appeal or maybe I am just ignorant to it. What does it really help with?

When u are backing out of a driveway, and there are cars on the street or a tree at the end of the drive. It alerts u of the passing cars on the street u really can't see coming. Also works with people in a parking lot. I think it works very well, and I was sceptical at first.

Hmm. Cool I guess. But I always back in my spots. Easier to see in a truck when leaving. Got in the habit because my first truck was a 2003 F-350 Crew Cab Long Bed. Practically a limo.

Mine doesn't have it, but the dealership had to bring it in from another dealer because all the TRD/OR access cabs had the tech package. I didn't want or need it, I knew that I was eventually going to change the rear bumper.

Around here in the south it is the opposite of what u say goes on where u live. It is harder to find a off-road or sport with the P+T package then without. U can find them, but they are more rare.

Around here, and I would think almost anywhere. The AC Sport M/T with P+T package has to be the most rare trim and option setup.

i got the premium tech so I could have heated seats and sun roof. When I removed mud flaps and filled bumper w/ snow bsm was unavailable, turned it off at switch not a problem. I could have my truck there Saturday morning, possibly Friday morning.

X2. I swore I wouldn't use it OR the camera... now I'm hooked.

I'll be flying blind after I install my rack and softtopper... so the BSM and camera are a must. The tech is great.

The swing out bumper is one of the cleanest looking ones I've seen and the price point is good... happy to let you 'borrow' my crete if you come to CO! Sub' in the meantime!

We came up with camera relocation brackets that will attach to the swing out arm between the tire carrier and the optional Jerry can holder.

We are going to test the tech package on a rear bumper real soon, I am trying to get a few things caught up first.
