Mobtown Offroad Tailgate Reinforcement Plate for 3rd Gen Tacoma

Skin only, cap is still a couple days away from release. Doing final fitting next week hopefully.

 

Joe - Can you hold my skin (order number 2028) until you have the cap mod available and ship them both together? You know I want both mods and now that I have one paid for, I will patiently wait for the other Stuff to become available.

 

Skin and cap we believe are going to have to ship in separate boxes. The cap on the gen 3 is much wider than the gen 2 and most likely won't fit in the same box.

 

Ok Joe, I'll yield to your better judgement. I'll just throw the thing in the back of the Taco until the rest of the stuff arrives.

 

Ok Joe, you've been quiet too long, what is the status of the tailgate cap? This "carrot" thing is gettin' old. I wanna know what's goin' on with my stuff! I posted the last entry on the 18th and there hasn't been a peep out of anyone since. Has everybody gone to sleep or on vacation. I guess they all read the "Tailgate Strength" thread and are getting cold feet. I for one am very glad that you are looking out for us. My 2012 SR5 tailgate lasted four years without a problem - I guess because I was ignorant of just how shoddy the thing was put together. I am thankful that the replacement skin is available and am convinced it will improve the longevity of my tailgate. I am also grateful that you introduced me to Rivet nuts so I can replace those dumb plastic nuts. I am convinced that one refrigerator or pallet dragged across the tailgate is sure to rip the plastic ("composite"?) skin right off. Across the board, I believe that the tailgate cap and replacement skin are the best, most versatile mods for all Taco owners. As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You're in the wrong thread bro. He started a new thread and mentions there that the caps will hopefully be released this week.

 

Oh I'm in the correct thread shipmate. And, I'm well aware of when Joe said they hoped to have the fitting completed. This thread has just shut down, if you are following the entries - which I know you are because you have been here from the start. My comment about rivet nuts stems from the skin installation instructions found on the Mob town Web site. The "optional" hardware package is a must have if you are serious about strengthening your tailgate. I am simply trying to keep the dialogue going so those still sitting on the fence will be convinced that this is a functional mod, not just a fad mod.

Thanks. I'm sub'd to that one as well. No word from Joe on the plates. My friend and I have sliders ordered that will hopefully ship this week. Haven't received a shipping notice after placing my order for the skin.
