    It's simple. Pull down on the lever under the steering column that you use to raise and lower the column. Pull out on the steering wheel with your hands positioned at 9 & 3 o'clock. You may have to pull hard especially if it hasn't been adjusted in a while. If you pull as hard as you can and can't get it to move then push in and then jerk back towards you. It should move around 2-3 inches.

    Gravity makes it drop when you release the lever, but telescoping requires a good hard pull. I didn't know mine telescoped until I read the manual.
