I took a leap and ordered a pair of FJ Cruiser sunvisors to see if they would fit on the rear overhead handles of the Tacoma since they mount on the side doors of the FJ using what looked to be the same size handles using my Mk1 eyeballs. Once I got my hands on them my assumptions proved to be true and they are a perfect fit but you will need to source longer mounting bolts as the ones holding your handles on are just long enough to hold the handle on with no thread to spare. I just found four more that were 10mm longer at the local hardware store.

The color is slightly off as these are a lighter grey than the Tacoma grey but if it really bothered someone I imagine they could use some vinyl dye or plastidip to sort that out. No lights or mirrors to be concerned with on these either.

The right hand visor with small alignment tabs on the center of the plate that interfere with mounting in the Tacoma before I removed them.

The left hand visor after removal of the small alignment tabs using cut-off wheel.

I put them up on the sides they were marked for but opted to try again by reversing them and found it to be a better fit functionally and they flip up closed just fine when not in use. Reversing them allows them to flip up just a bit higher against the headliner when not in use.

I don't have my receipt handy - in airport lounge waiting on delayed flight - but I recall they were around forty dollars delivered for the pair. I'm sure that people with great google-foo could find the price per part on TW vendor sites and add them here.

EDIT: Looked them up after returning home and they were fourty dollars apiece delivered but looks like they dropped 25% in price since them as all of the TacomaWorld parts vendors that I have searched seem to have them around thirty dollars each. I've gone ahead and added the following part numbers.

    Toyota part numbers:

FJ Cruiser Visor Sub Assy Right Side (74303-35020-B0)
FJ Cruiser Visor Sub Assy Left Side (74304-35020-B0)

I do allot of north to south travel and they really help my backseat passengers comfort level. Pictures as promised. Took them around 17:30 today so sun not at it's brightest and I do have tinted windows.

Inside my truck with them flipped up. You can see the slight color difference here.

How far it flips down when in use. Ignore my not so beautiful "stop that damn wind noise" mod that is visible.

Not sure if this helps any since the tint does block allot of detail.

Nice. I wonder what other items from the Toyota line we could transfer over?

Love the mod and was going to order the parts to do it, then remembered my back seat passengers (aka the kids) come from a long lineage of short people and would never be able to use the visors.

    Looks great though!

That is awesome. Volkswagons and Audi vehicles do swaps like this all the time. It's just takes someone to try it out. Very nice!

Yes, very clever, and inexpensive, but I'm wondering how it can improve traction?

2 in spacer lift front 2, in AAL rear [tundra leaf] , flip up tow mirrors, ARE shell electric brake controller and cooper ATP 265/r70x16 tires on stock TRD wheels
The added weight being hung behind the center of gravity should improve rear wheel traction by about 40%

Nice find! Did you measure the hole-to-hole distance on these? May be usable on other cars as well.

    Hey, OP....

I took your advice on the parts cross- matching, and found a pair at the wreckers.... $30.

    AWESOME!

The freakin' metric SS bolts were $6 at the hardware store... Gaah!

... and now I can go wheelin' !!!

    :woot:
