That's right my friend, so you can just connect that wire to the ON/OFF switch and then you have no issues..! (that' what I did, anytime when you want to "type address" you push that switch off and then switch on back after you done.) :)

    Hey there,
The BLACK wire from (Rocker Switch) for blue LED (you don't have to add it) otherwise you can add simple ON/OFF switch.

Question: Has anyone that's done this mod noticed if it has an effect on the phone (dialer) operations that are also disabled when the vehicle is moving? (I know you can use voice commands when moving.) Thanks in advance.

    Not possible!
    * Make sure you cut the right wire and connect the ON/OFF switch!
** When switch position offthe GPS off approximately 50-100ft.

Please check this out and let me know..

your original post, before you edited it, made no mention of the switch until I posted that i cut the wire and the GPS could not find my location. Then you posted to add a switch. If you had done this mod, then you would have known it did not work without the switch before i made my post and if you actually did this mod, you would know the off switch means your gps cannot locate you and not that its off 100 ft.

If anyone else has done this mod with the switch and it worked, i'll shut up and move on, but until then, i would advise not to do this mod

I'm not the OP but, I had previously reported in this thread that the speed sensor wire did more than just disable functions when moving. This is well documented elsewhere. Other vehicles I have had - and some aftermarket radios use the speed sensor wire in conjunction with GPS data to provide accurate tracking. No surprise that is the case here. I posted this so others could make an informed decision to cut or not to (my recommendation is don't). I don't know when the OP changed his original post.

I did not cut my wire. I pulled out the pin, and put it back. With the pin out full GPS function was enabled. Tracking was off. Tracking was restored after pin was reinserted AND device was rebooted (required more than on/off but could have been a timing thing, it was not instantaneous for me, YMMV)

I had also previously stated there was no parking brake connection. I was incorrect. On a 2013 with base audio there is NO connection to the parking brake (ie a wire that is grounded when brake pedal is depressed). On a 2014 there IS a parking brake connection shown. Once the weather is warmer I'll test out grounding this pin to see the effect and post my results. I'll use a lead, a pin and simply connect to ground emulating the parking brake pedal being depressed. This will not be connected to the parking brake at all, so no light will come on or anything. Speed data should not be impacted.

I had previously installed an aftermarket stereo that had both the speed and parking brake inputs. The parking brake wire being grounded was sufficient to enable the disabled functions without impacting functionality even temporarily.

Without internal diagrams to how the radio works, I can only discern the available TIS wiring diagrams have to offer, which merely shows a ground connection to the parking brake (when depressed).

Any ideas on how to add navigation to a non-premium Entune head unit?

I would like to say that this mod 100% works on my 2014 entune w/o JBL. I have been looking to do this mod for quite some time and finally did it yesterday without issue. Once the switch is flipped back on it takes my GPS approximately 30 to 45 seconds to correctly locate me again. Thank you OP for posting this mod.

thats all i did on my 2013 stock head unit. Removed the pin from the plug, now i can make calls via the head unit while moving.

I also spliced in to the ignition switch wire and put a 2 position switch on it to a constant 12v so i can turn the radio on without keys in the ignition.
