Just got my tacoma a few nights ago and i'm a new member. When i bought the truck the rear leafs were broken ( the guy was a painter and hauled some pretty heavy stuff ) but i got a steal on it and its a great truck just went 4wheelin last night and currently its in the my shop getting the old brown decals off ( they looked pretty crappy on as Brown on Black ) and its getting a MAJOR cleaning and polishing job.

What i need to know though, if im buying new leafs, shouldn't i go ahead and buy about a 2'' lift? Its got brand new BFG A/T's on it which are only 31s and i dont want to buy new tires or make the truck look goofy. Of course right now though it looks like its draggin it's own ass down the road LOL.

Or should i just replace the springs and leave it as is? Because the guy also put brand new shocks on it for me.

I'll put up pictures after this weekend when its clean.

Unless you plan on going to bigger tires and new shocks, then just get replacement leafs.

I would take the opportunity to upgrade the hell out of it. That is, of course, if you have the money and the time. You will get more use out of your truck, and more personalization. There are plenty of people on here to shoot questions too, if you got em'.

Otherwise, you will have a great truck even if you just redo the stock setup.

Good luck, and WELCOME TO TW!

The stock leafs on the Tacoma are crap! Contact Deaver springs and get real springs. Massive improvement. Makes it a real truck again....

do you have a number i can contact for Deaver springs?

I planned on buying standard springs from JCwhitney and then having a local shop add a helper spring for when i haul my dirtbike and gear so it doesn't sag bad.
