That was the sound my clutch pedal was making this morning. Even though the sound had been described as a squeak, creak or a barn door, I was able to solve the problem in under 3 seconds, thanks to the relentless efforts of the membership here at TW. After an hour of searching (15 minutes for the answer, 45 minutes in the funny pictures thread), I found a solution. I simply ran my hand up the back of the clutch pedal and gave the boot at the base of the shaft a quarter twist. Over a hundred shifts later - it's like butter and feels great with no noise.

I would like to thank the members of TacomaWorld for maintaining the worlds largest Toyota Tacoma knowledge base and entertainment resource.

    Well done TW, well done.

BONUS: Who heard the sound in their head when thy read the title?
Double BONUS: Who knows where the term Corinthian leather came from?

Yes and Yes - those were the days.
Chrysler marketing made up the term so it sounded exotic.

    1. Squeep!
2.Corinthian leather is a term coined by the advertising agency Bozell to describe the upholstery used in certain Chrysler luxury vehicles.

    "Rich, Corinthian leather!"

In contrast, my taco has "velvety field mouse fur", as narrated by The Cable Guy...

Great squeaky clutch tip, BTW. I've never seen any suggestion for that here besides "live with it"...
