DUMBASS!!!! Lucked out and didn't break anything. I wouldn't have hauled it if I knew it weighed that much.

Just noticed from this pic the car wash jacked up my front license plate. They're so cheap since they changed to putting the letters/numbers on w/paint & don't actually stamp them out anymore. Easy fix, though.

Just drove 2,375 miles from Texas to Smoky Mountains NP over to Myrlte Beach, SC & back in 6 days. Man what a drive!!! Over 40hrs in the drivers seat. Truck did great but after that amount of drive time my back hurts from the seat. I guess that's to be expected!

I've been searching for a hard camper since I got the truck but after this trip I'll no longer be looking. The soft top works awesome & the kids enjoy off pavement riding in the back with the sides up so much! Plus, if you need something up front in the bed just unsnap, grab it, snap back & done. If you don't need the top then it comes off in <3 minutes.

When you rolled thru SC you could have picked up your sliders straight from SOS shop instead of waiting on Fastenal to delivery them. :anonymous:

Installed the Alpine Power Pack tonight. Had a couple prob's but once finalized, it sounds damn good! I see no reason to change the rear speakers to match the front (Polk DB 6.5") but I am still adding the Kicker Hideaway in the future. Stereo sounds acceptable for now.

Hammered down the front fender inner pinch welds. I make 3 small cuts on each one to make it easier to bend them over. The actual cutting & hammering part took <10 minutes w/a 4lb sledge. I didn't try to make the paint look good, just super think. I put the inner liner back on so you can't even see the paint.
    IMG_2898.jpg

I also adjusted the front C/O's. Again. I added 3 full turns to the PS & 4 turns to the DS, so now the DS has 4 more full turns than the PS & it's still lower. Even w/them pre-loaded this damn much, I only have 2.5" lift PS (22.5") & DS (22.25") w/PS being 1/4" taller w/an empty fuel tank on no driver. I still have just over 3" droop. I won't be adjusting them any higher before I swap to the 650lb 14" King's I have.

I just did it this morning & have only put ~25 miles since I did it. Thus far, I feel no difference.

Man I'm sorry your having these problems.. hope you remember me from earlier threads. Not a fan of the fox front springs at all. Had the same preload to get the same lift your getting. My shocks are current at accutune for a revalve. Hope that'll help the rear end!! As for the front, 14 inch at least 650lb springs. These being advertised for 1-3 inches of lift is rediculous....

Yes, I remember you! I've been crazy busy & haven't had time to strip the blue paint off the Kings so I can paint them then get them swapped out. It's become a PITA, to say the least. I thought by spending the coin I did, I'd be good to go. Uh, nope. I saw you're getting yours revalved. That's awesome!

I hope so, just keep thowing money at it until I like them.... Still right now cause of the group by I'm about even with retail.. Just rediculous, don't think I'm searching for a mid travel setup that'll perform like a LT, but for God's sake fox.... Hopefully the revalve will smooth my rear end our, and the bigger springs in the front will get me my lift back minus all the preload.. I shudder to think what it would be like running a steel bumper and winch with the stock fox coils. Yeah, life happens, hope the springs work out for you!

The ride is pretty damn good but I wanted 3" of lift, w/out pre-loading the shit out of it. I'll get there one way or another!

Very strange that you're having these kinda issues on a 2nd gen.
I just looked through your first few pages of thread...
The front bumper is the issue. Too much weight for the og springs the Fox l2 comes with.
I'm on a 3rd gen, but no extra accessories or weight and I'm at 2.7" of thread showing with 2.5" of lift..exactly 100% level.
My setup is just like yours except I'm on HS 3leaf aal (overload left in) and TC UCAs.
The overload really raised the height of the rear to the max so to level it out I really had to crank up the coilovers. If I had taken the overload out, preload would be less to get it level.
My ride is pretty awesome and I drive the shit out of my truck. No weird bounces or strange road behaviour.
I bet it's the weight of that bumper. 2nd gens are lighter so it must be nose heavy.

Sounds like you should have gone with a 14" spring or a higher spring rate. Not saying you should have known better, just saying that's likely the best solution for you. The longer spring or higher spring rate would allow you to not need as much pre-load. I actually just landed on a set of Fox 2.5s and I went with a 14" 650 coil. :D

My truck is almost stock except for the rci sliders, just seems rediculous that 600lb springs can support lift without all the preload. I have 14 inch 650lbs on standby for when I get my shocks back!!!

Higher spring rate would have less preload but same rate but longer will have the same preload to achieve the same height. The answer here is only higher spring rate, which he has waiting to go on.
