Having recently become unemployed, and looking too blow off some steam from working pretty much every day 12hrs for the last 3 yrs on a project, I am looking to blow off some steam and decompress before taking on a new position with another company.

The plan right now is to hit up California, grab some items and boogie to the east coast of Canada to see the folks for Xmas. Then I have time to explore, hike, snow shoe, my way back across the US before heading back to start a new position.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the Sw USA and will probably head back to Mohave trail/Death Valley area, but am looking for some good spots to winter camp as well.

    Thinking the following:
-Paysonn to grande canyon via back roads, I’ve had this mapped out for awhile and it’s my old work area
    -lake Powell area
    -Mohave trail
    -Death Valley
-then maybe Idaho/Oregon on my way back to ALBERTA.

Lots of miles. I’d fly home but going with the pup is a pain in the ass. I’d kennel her, but my mom wants to meet her and i’d rather drive, I fly to much for work.

    Appreciate any ideas/input.

Alpine loop in Colorado is fun.

Thx, I’ll check it out. This for hiking/snow shoeing? Or offroading?

If you are coming through Payson highly suggest spending a night up on the Rim and taking in a sunset from camp

Offroading and exploring. I hear there is good mountain biking and hiking too.

Its doable in the winter? As in lil to no snow? I’m not worried about snow, just curious.

For California, hit up Hwy 395 along the Eastern side of the Sierras. There's plenty of dirt out there to keep you entertained (Mammoth area has some cool stuff), but even if you just take the hwy, the views are worth it.
